He meant they're expected to, and that's true. A person who is just entering a job that they have no or very little experience with won't be perfect. You were a trial moderator yourself, so you know what it's like when you're entering an environment that you're not accustomed to. I don't think he means that they're supposed to, or that they want moderators to make mistakes, he's simply saying that it's a fact that mistakes will happen, and that you can't expect every newer moderator to be absolutely on top of everything. I made quite a few mistakes myself when I was a staff member (well past the trial mod stage), and people learn as they go and that's what shapes a person into who they are. I'm sure you've heard a million times that one should learn from their mistakes, that's what he's trying to get across. I'm not saying that all staff are perfect at the moment, because that's obviously not the case, and it never was nor will it ever be. If everything was that perfect I highly doubt it anything would be enjoyable. I can promise you that from the very start of this server to the very end, whenever that is, there will always be at least someone or a couple of people who hold the opinion that the staff are bad and that the server is doomed to fail due to their personal bad (and potentially biased) experiences. I've been a part of a few communities and wherever I go, I'll see this same type of post eventually, it's simply how people work.
A mistake is more like an unintentional happening. The only thing you did that was unintended was get caught. ^my thoughts.
I don't get why you keep bringing this up. Are you implying you made an innocent mistake when you lied to me and then went and told other people that you were intentionally lying to me to keep me happy? Was that a mistake also? Was it a mistake that after you got demoted, you went and lied to all your friends to make me seem like the bad guy as if I demoted you based on no evidence? Was it a mistake that once evidence was presented, you then finally admitted to your wrongdoings and tried to apologize to me on numerous occasions? Lets not even mention how you then tried to get other mods in trouble by fabricating evidence that they were breaking the rules, I just knew not to trust a two faced person. The more you keep bringing this up as if you were the victim and McMuffin was the bad guy just further shows how disillusioned you are. What you did was demotion worthy, I gave you a talk before you got demoted but you decided you wanted to keep lying to me and keep breaking the rules. If I let that fly then whats next? You going to break our other rules and lie about it too? No, that's just not acceptable. This also further proves that your apologies were fake since you still don't take responsibility for your actions. You make all our bad ex-mods look like angels by comparison so please stop convincing yourself what you did was the right thing and that McMuffin is the bad guy here. McMuffin did the right thing by getting rid of bad apples within our staff team so that this community can continue to prosper.
You gave me a talk before I got demoted.....? When the hell was this? I talked to McMuffin afterwards, he tried to avoid demotion and I get that. But when you were shown the proof he had asked you to talk to us about it instead of demoting us straight away. Which you didn't do, not that you had to but you did not. And fabricating evidence....? I'm the delusional one...? Can you show this fabricated evidence to everyone? The only screenshot I remember showing you was one of a whole bunch of staff members in an inactive Skype call. My apologies stood valid until you decided to discourage me for making a smart ass comment towards you when you made one towards me. At least that's what I think it was, I pmed you twice asking why, spammed Sinz a bunch, McMuffin even said he would tell me why but then he ignored me. Not that he would want to get involved but @Sinz can actually confirm this part of my post. The only part that's true about your post is that what I did was demotion worthy. I got demoted and tried to stay, but I realized how bad you wanted me gone. P.S. Yes what I did was a mistake, Spoiler P.S.S for the love of fucking everything can you just ban me already?
I don't about anybody else, but I don't think most players in this discussion are mature enough to have a simple conversation about what needs to be improved in the community of STTT. I feel as if this thread is causing other players to bash one another for mistakes that we all have already made most likely. Saying this, I ask politely to lock the thread again to to prevent further problems of possible harassment, or anything of that nature. :/
I think staff have been doing fine overall, but could possibly improve on some things said in Soulja's Thread. Not once have I seen actual abuse from a mod or higher for any reason. But, I have seen staff make mistakes. And that is okay it means we are still humans. Just because someone makes a single simple mistake and they are staff does not mean that they should be demoted/replaced. It would be a waste of resources/time because you need to keep retraining staff and those staff might make mistakes, too. And sure; Sometimes there are no staff on a server, also okay. People have lives, families, and jobs and I rather prioritize my real life rather than a volunteer job on a game. And ex-staff (if they did not do major offenses and get demoted for it.) are going to be a safer pick. They are experienced and have knowledge of the rules/protocol more than any regular member. We all have inside jokes, they do not have to be with staff. "lolk" is between like...most of the staff/exstaff in general who use it and how does that even give the the benefit of doubt? And people do say "Ni**er, F*gs, and F*ggots," but this is very rare and can get you banned quickly for harassment/spam. Staff care a lot about players, can you prove that they don't? No didn't think so. Do you even have ANY evidence saying ANY of your rant is true and all staff do is abuse/favorite ex-staff, staff allow homophobia/racism in ANY context? A screenshot or video would work. Most of this is your experience, which you admit in the last sentence before the rules occur. And no offense, but you give the option to leave, then why not leave? No one is forcing you to stay in a community that you claim that: "Too many players cozy up to the mods. By acting like best friends, creating inside jokes, et cetera, they get the benefit of the doubt whenever they are in trouble. Players who are ex-staff and players that get close to the current staff rarely get slain or banned when they are in the wrong." I mean, you said it was simple enough. Just my thought or two. -Husky
Well I mean if we are on the topic of having a two faced personality...... The whole Skype group was basically his idea. @McMuffin @Highwon
Mr Rogers, I would recommend showing them the countless times I tried to persuade the group to go to TeamSpeak. Also, if you want your posts to be conclusive, I recommend not taking things out of context like so. I want to avoid an argument about this on this thread, so this will infact be my last post. It's honestly ridiculous that after all of this, you haven't figured out what happened to you guys and why.
Do I really need to go back and forth with you? No matter what you say, what happened is what happened and I laid it all out for you clearly in my previous post. You can keep lying to yourself and your friends but you're only digging your own hole deeper. But lets keep this topic on track and not derail it for your own selfish desires.
You were made moderator and then didn't live up to expectations (harassing players allegedly). Why are you upset at other staff members for something you did? Do you have any examples of this? Why didn't you report the staff members that were breaking rules? You have to help us help you... Never in my time have I seen staff encourage RDM so I'll need proof of this as well. RDM happens because TTT at its core is a little flawed, which is why it needs much staff interaction. School recently started. 80% of our staff roster are high school age. Not something we can help, as there aren't enough older applicants. This I agree with. We set an activity requirement for our staff and they should at least be meeting that. When I or other admins notice staff not putting in the time, we give them time to pull it up or they risk replacement. A lot goes on behind the scenes that you aren't aware of.
I've seen some epic hypocrisy myself. Saw an ex-staff who was a total hardass during his staffing days shouting racial expletives over voice chat last week. He mentioned he plans on signing back up at a later date. I have little doubt his application will be denied.
