I'm sorry to hear that some of you have had some unpleasant experiences with players, with staff, and with our server in general. While I do agree with some of the above in that generalizing mods as a whole and Sttt as a unit over specific incidents isn't the best way to go about it, I do see why you can think some of the things you think about us. I'd like to point out, though, that while we may act differently over the lovely medium that is the internet, we are still only human, and are limited by the tools available to us. You have to understand that no matter how hard we try, no many how many hours we invest in making this community a haven for all things just and friendly, such a place is not achievable. I know that I am not speaking for myself alone when I say that we are trying to get rid of the harassment, the "lazy" or "inept" staff, but we cannot be perfect, and we cannot get everything. I joined this community several months ago, and I can tell you without any hesitation that these servers, these staff, these players are by far the most tolerant of individuality and the most aware of injustice that you will ever find on TTT. The low tolerance of harassment and discrimination are what made me stay in the first place; I'm sorry you feel that people are allowed to harass and curse based of sexual orientation or skin color, but that simply is not the case. To finish up what turned out to be a longer post than I had anticipated, I'd like to say thank you, souja; not for your money, which you seem to think makes you superior in moral standing, but for the time that you have spent as part of this community, and for this thread; without people like you to voice the concerns that they have (however they may be worded), Sttt would not be the place I am proud to call myself a moderator for today.
Thank you for opening the thread back up, Highwon. I thought it was closed rather hastily to begin with.
And yes, I am friends with a lot of the staff members, but that does not, under ANY circumstance, mean that I am able to avoid punishment. In fact, as soon as I realize that I have RDM'd, I automatically tell the staff member to slay me. Just because you're friends with staff members does not mean you are immune to any kinds of punishments. Now, what you we about former staff not being punished is COMPLETELY wrong. There has been dozens of bans that have been issued on former staff members, for example, Snak. He was an admin, but he broke the rules and harassed players as well as staff members, he got banned.... permanently...
Every community has problems but your problems and "solutions" are about as helpful as those occupy wallstreet movements. For the most part I don't think what you mentioned is a huge issue (it is somewhat - but not that bad) most of the issues are caused because of behind the scenes tensions that you aren't privy to as a regular player.
I highly doubt that. Maturity is what matters, not Age. Also, I do agree on some of Soulja's points. He is entitled to his own opinion and I respect that. (that sounds dumb coming from me xD)
TL;DR - OP is complaining about things that he can help fix but chooses not too, also doesn't know what goes on behind closed doors and is making assumptions without any evidence. You're Welcome.
I'm an adult that doesn't like kids, but it's because they're immatire and on a different level of development. This obviously changes when they can be mature.
Just gonna say I have about 600 hours on vanilla (only play vanilla) and on there at least I have not noticed anything like you are talking about The staff are polite and work hard and slay people pretty much every round and ban people multiple times every day (and these aren't false slays/false bans either) I can't recall many situations where I reported someone when a staff was on and the report wasn't handled fairly I have seen mods spending extra rounds after an RDM gathering information from both sides just to handle it properly and find out what happened I have seen many people gagged warned kicked and banned for saying words like you mentioned I have personally been gagged for saying naughty words (like penis) And even though I am sure all the staff dont like me for my 150 slays/40+ karma bans/regular drunk stuff they dont let it show inside or outside of the server and instead continue to slay fairly and allow me to explain my side of the story instead of immediately banning me for Mass RDM when I killed 4 innocents as detective I have never seen a server like this one where the mods dont abuse their power (I was banned from a TTT server recently for telling a lead admin not to call people faggot) and I even @slay me every time I RDM (when I am aware of the RDM) just to make things easier for them and more fair for the other players on the server (which in turn makes it easier for the staff as well) A staff member member has even went to the length of adding me on steam after I RDMd and left to try and get me to come back on/explain the RDM instead of just banning me straight away And has spent a chunk of his free time (while not even staffing) to help me get a demo up on the forums thank u sinz I just think it is ridiculous to generalize all the staff on STTT as rule breaking lazy assholes And we all know how dumb the loopholes are but currently there hasn't been a logical/worthwhile fix for that And when it comes to tracking the path of the person killed for walking past an unidentified body there is a big issue that comes to hand there and that is people can walk from many different starting points and end up at the same ending point STTT players dont leave personally labelled and timestamped trails of breadcrumbs every time they walk and if you are basing your mod decisions off your guess of which path they took you are guarantee to make mistakes - that much should be obvious So if you were the kind of staff member that harassed a player (which you said you did) and solved loophole problems by guessing what transpired then I believe it is a very good thing that you are not a staff member - and a very logical choice Although your intent on making the servers better is a good intention I think you need to rethink a few things (Sorry for the way I write I am missing about 4 keys on my keyboard and they all happen to be punctuation keys)
You heard it here first folks, mods are "supposed" to make mistakes. Coming from the man who got three staff members demoted for using Skype. (Yes I understand that is a different situation but a mistake nonetheless.) lolk. P.S. I fixed it for you, fucking gr8 m8 i r8 u 8/8 admin. All content that is written are my thoughts and mine alone.
