"I think", "Probably", etc being unsure if he actually has one is suspicion. No killing on suspicion, so those are not KOSes.

    II.
You do have a good point. My line of thought being it being a statement vs. a question is that when you ask a question, you're allowing the player to give an explanation before deciding whether to kill for it. However it is true that the way that question is worded does directly imply that he does have a harpoon and thus can be freely KOSed by anyone else who wants to. I agree with Sinz' disagreement.

If you, in any way, shape, or form, directly imply that someone committed a traitorous act, it is considered a KOS.

I have edited my original post to reflect my new stance on the issue.

A good rule I follow is to only kill someone when either A.) I specifically see them with a Traitor Weapon, or B.) someone specifically calls them a Traitor or KOSes them.

I really think that is a dick move to kill you for shooting a decoy... Cuz that is not T-Baiting... That is being a good innocent. #DickMove

Also, notice that people don't know what they watch... I got 3 head shots with the awp in a populated area before anyone noticed.... So its highly unlikely that he REALLY saw you throw anything.

  4. Here are some things that are said a lot that I'm unsure whether or not I should kill for:

    "PLAYER is definitely a T."
"I just saw PLAYER walk past an unID'd body."

The first one is most interesting because it's the obviously the implication that they're a traitor and the person who said it just doesn't have the evidence yet, but technically that statement is just that; a statement that they are a traitor.

The second one is strange because, as others have pointed out, it's a direct accusation of a traitorous act and therefor is technically a KOS. But my question is, if I go kill the person who allegedly walked past an un-ID'd body and he turns out to be innocent, isn't that technically a false KOS? After all, if I didn't actually witness him walk past the un-ID'd body, for all I know the guy who said it completely made it up.

For the first situation, ask the person that said it if it is a KOS or if they are saying it because they have suspicion.

For the second, the answer to your question is yes. However, check to see if the person asking the question is identifying a body at the same time he is saying it.

Both of them are technically KOSes but I would follow Mango's advice.

That first one is NOT a Kos. Being as T can be either traitor or terrorist. Many people say oh hey guys I am a T you know a terrorist.

What If I lie and say 'Sinz has an MP7!' and Someone kills sinz... Who gets the slay? Because I did not intend to call sinz out, I was joking... Who gets the slay here? me or the other guy?

Your little joke got me killed.

If those were the chain of events that took place and you truly had no rhyme nor reason to say I had a MP7, a slay would be issued against you. If any of the traitorous acts are committed by an innocent player and this results in another player's random damage, they are held responsible. Ultimately, the 'joke' KOS resulted in my death making it RDM. To explain this further, here's the run-down and how situations like these are viewed and handled "behind the scenes", as a staff member.

That would be a form of T-baiting. If they get killed for it, it is their fault, regardless of what squanders they try to claim. They are fully aware of what they are saying and how they are saying it. If they leave it as "I am a T" and get killed, no harm will come to their killer based on the !motd.

  11. That exact thing happened last night. Someone said "PLAYER walked past an un-ID'd body. Keep an eye on PLAYER."

The first statement is KOS. He's saying PLAYER committed a traitorous act. But then he follows up to just keep an eye on him. Technically I have a right to kill PLAYER and if I do and he turns out to be innocent, I then have a right to kill the person who called him out. I think?

    I'm a little confused.

Yes, but like I said, you should see if the person that said it or that player is IDing a body then; I would also look for the body to see how they died. Obviously if the person was pushed to spectator, the person that didn't ID it most likely didn't see it.

  13. Here's an another scenario:

PLAYERA says PLAYERB is shooting at a wall so KOS him. PLAYERB says that's a not a traitorous act and that's a false KOS, so PLAYERB kills PLAYERA. PLAYERA turns out to be innocent. Do I then have a right to kill PLAYERB?

If someone kills an innocent, or is shooting at another player, you may kill them as it is a traitorous act (excluding detectives).

However, I completely advise against it as it is a belligerent style of play and is not supportive of the main objective of being innocent, killing traitors. If you know an innocent killed another innocent under valid grounds, don't continue the chain, the only result that comes from this is another man down and less players for the traitors to kill. This goes along with killing someone as they're shooting someone else. If you see someone shooting another player in a manner that is not consecutive, it would be courteous to leave that player be until they can identify the body because it is likely they just killed a traitor.

    That's how I play.

Also, you can't kill someone for saying 'I just killed someone!' as he does not specify whether he killed an innocent or not... (been slain on this rule twice now.)

I feel like if you stay away from a group of people or leave because you have heard a frag being thrown it's not a direct KOS. But if someone accuses you of throwing the frag, it generally turns into an RDM war. I've experienced a similar situation where I linger from a large group for fear of being Jihaded. I don't like people's reactions to my strategy, and I get RDM'd a lot because of it. But I think running away from a frag and being accused of throwing it is a special situation. And shooting a radio is NOT T-BAITING. If anything at all, I'd say he would be proven for shooting it. But that's just my opinion.
