The mods actually deal with RDM, and I can have confidence in the fact that if I'm rdm'd they will be punished. I also really like the community, not to many douchebags or squeakers.
First time I played I was a T and convinced three detectives to do my bidding for most of the round. Found the server fun and continued playing.
Bought gmod, clicked ttt mode, saw seriousttt west server, joined it and still here to a degree today.
I have been thinking about this ever since I saw this thread start and after attempting to write up a reason at least 5 times I have finally come up with the response I first struggled to write up. When I first joined the servers, I was a very quiet player. I never talked, barely used the chat unless I needed to and instead just observed the way of the players. What I saw was something that really called out to me. Apart from the toxicity that is known to exist on the vanilla server, I saw friendships and people getting along well. I saw players coming back each and every day and that was when I decided that I was going to do the same and even open up by becoming more vocal. As soon as I started this the toxicity became more prevalent towards myself but the amazing thing was, players, the ones that were always coming back, did their best to stop them from what they were doing. They joined forces to look out for the other players. It was this friendship, this community of people who didn't even know one another yet banded together to stomp out the trolls that really got me coming back more often. Soon enough I too had banded with these people across the globe and have made some friendships that I am so happy to have made. To this day I continue to talk to all of those friends I made back then and continue to make even more friends across both the vanilla servers and on the forums. For this I am so very grateful for having found this community but even more so grateful for the community to have been made in the first place. Not only did the wonderful players make me come back but so did the friendly, approachable staff team. Whenever I engaged in conversation with a member of the team I never once felt like I was being talked down to, I was always treated with respect and shortly after I began to play more often on the server I also formed some friendships with the staff team. The staff teams competence and their ability to staff the severs so well were also reason why I continued to come back to the servers. The last reason, not all that prevalent but still an important reason none-the-less were the rules. Not only were they pretty easy to follow and easy to understand and implement, but they were and still are very fair. I have not yet seen a more proficient and uncomplicated set of rules in comparison to our own. Because of this and the other said reasons I have no plans of ever leaving this community and I have hopes to continue to see this community flourish.
I totally agree with your points! - First the staff are awesome and the way the server rules are reinforced make the game so much more intense and fun. - The rules in general, like no RDM, and the Traitorous act rules are on point and help flesh out the game mode. - The additional game modes are always a fun surprise and are really fun and I loved those. I have had the game for about two years now, but have only recently started playing only on Serious TTT. These 3 reasons are the main reasons I've decided to donate, and keep playing as well as encourage my own friends to play as well.
