Okay, I have another question, is it against the rules to place down a prop, jump on top of said prop, then jump onto an area that normally isn't reacheable without a prop/other person's help? This is mainly an issue on the map island where you would essentially use a prop to jump on top of the little shack infront of the light house, then proceed to jump onto the roof of the lighthouse. Whenever I use this method to get onto the roof everyone always tells me to not propsurf to un-reachable areas, however I do not see this as an unreachable area because there is always an alternative route to get there, which is dropping down from the top of the light-tower and take some damage as a collateral. I also do not see it as prop-surfing because, I'm not prop surfing, I'm climbing on-top of props which then lead me to be able to get in other places.
yes this is considered prop surf, since a prop was used to reach an unreachable area, now like @Event Horizon said, it's allowed if you use a player as a, stepping stool, if you will. Now to answer your question simply, using a prop to get to an unreachable are is considered prop surf.
no, he said the only way to access this are was by using a prop or using another player. So to answer his question, it's allowed if you don't use a prop.
That is a situation where I would probably let you stay there as long as you didn't camp. I haven't been on Scar island that I can recall yet, so I'll need to see. But if you can get there without a prop, albeit by taking damage, then I don't see why using a prop to avoid taking damage would be a bad thing. We don't allow using props because it opens exploits in maps; this particular case does not seem to open up an exploit within the map (at least no more than jumping from the tower above)
Actually I mentioned that there is infact another way to get there, I said that you would have to fall down from the top of the light-tower and have the risk of possibly dying and taking a considerable amount of damage.
No it doesn't as long as the area is reachable without the use of props then it is within the rules to use props to get there.
what exactly are you trying to carry on? We've given you our answer multiple times. It's only allowed if you don't use a prop. The End. I will be getting a staff member to close this thread since this has been answered multiple times. Have a good day!
What about on DATMAP? There is a place a lot of people go too and they stack chairs on top of each other to get to a secret room, I have even seen staff members get on too there as well
This is actually a very good question. My opinion about this is that it's not much of an exploit, this was intended to be here. I don't know I'll have to ask @Zikeji or @Event Horizon or @Carned or whoever I can get to answer this question.
You don't need a prop to get to that room. I personally just jumped up on the middle of the cart that's right next to the room and then got to the top. It's not an exploit.
Umm I'm carrying on the fact that you are wrong. It is allowed. An area is considered unreachable if a player can not get there with out the use of a prop. Since a player can get there with out the use of a prop it is completely with in the rules to use a prop to get there as stated by @Event Horizon.
