Keeping it short: we are all different from one another, and although that seems like common sense, we forget that too often. I somewhat agree with @POPSTAR; suicide is an option- but in a life filled with an infinite supply of options and decisions, why should permanently removing yourself from a temporary issue be the only one? EDIT: If you ever feel like taking your own life please either contact the suicide hotline (1-800-273-8255 or http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/) OR feel free to contact me here or on Steam.
Honestly, I've felt those feelings before. I wanted to do it, almost did. But I had help from my girlfriend, and she also went through some stuff, was going to kill herself one night, but I solved the problem, and helped her through it. Many people see it as the first option out, and after experiencing it (I didn't see it as the first option), I honestly do think that help should be looked for first for the sake of your loved ones. If the help can't be found, and you really feel that the only way to solve the problem is that, then nobody can stop you if you really feel the need. But I pretty much agree with most of the things previously said.
although i do agree that suicide can be rather selfish as vodka said i also have to disagree with it because the are circumstances in which it would be selfless as in if you were terminally ill you may not want your loved ones to see you deteriorate as your condition got worse you may want to leave them thinking of you how you were as depression for instance is not terminal can be treated and lead on to a long and heathy life but its not just the reason for suicide but also the method the are many ways to do it and almost all of them would desrtoy a loved on if they found or didnt find you there is alot to consider
Well.. This one time this girl pretended she cuts herself, and then she said she cut an arterie and said she was dying. She then suddenly gained popularity and then it was found that it was fake. I mean, dafuq were they thinking. "Let's follow this person she is dying! D:" it was on the internet so it was obviously BS. It was even recognized by YouTubers and they responded to it. All I can say is that she's a dumbasssss. The point of this is that suicide is selfish. I mean, if you will end your life, why broadcast it on the internet and seek for attention? Maybe they want people to feel bad for them, but honestly I think they are just seeking attention. [TL;DR] suicide is selfish and people who broadcast it are too
I attempted suicide multiple times. Each time its like my body told me to man up and work through the pain and i did. The last attempt i had was jumping from a building and i have a knee with permanent damage and damage to my spine i don't have the money to fix. BUT my life turned out to be better than i ever imagined it would be. Ive tried helping a lot of people and sometimes it works....sometimes not so much. Suicide is something that,s hard for people to understand who have not been in those shoes, but for people who have, they usually have their own story as to why, or why not, it is a reasonably solution. I regret every time I've attempted suicide and i believe its made me a better and stronge person. But i think it should never be considered or attempted by anyone simply because there are people out there that care, you may just not have met them yet. In short, If you don't know what the future holds, then you cant say for sure whether or not your life is worth living.
So what you described is a Hoax...Suicide isn't selfish. Unless you know how a person is thinking and whether or not the have the mental fortitude to deal with the situation there in, you have no idea if it is tearing them up and making them a husk of a human. Ive seen people get talked outta suicide and them just turn into a hateful person. I'm not saying that person deserved to die or i wanted them dead, but whatever they were going through completely destroyed their mind, and they may as well have died since they were no longer the same person. Also people who Broadcast suicide mostly are doing it for attention and don't actually have those thoughts. Its the people that keep it to themselves in fear of being ridiculed or shunned because of the thoughts in their head. And you misspelled artery.
I'm sorry. That is not what I meant. I don't want to start an argument, and what I meant was that suicide should not be thought of a "way out." Also, I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
Oh no dude i didn't mean anything bad about it and i wasn't trying to start anything. your opinion is just as welcome as anyones. My apologies if i seemed like an ass.
Suicide is never a good thing as I have had a friend that commited it a few years back and honestly it affects those around you alot more than you think it would. Keep looking and moving foward. Feel free to add me on steam if you want to talk. - Natsu Senpai
Suicide is the ultimate, extreme case for self-ownership. So many people attempt to hold suicidal people hostage emotionally by saying that those who are left behind will be hurt by their actions. In so doing, they're impressing the idea that others can force them to live. It's not necessarily a good tactic against those who are already frustrated with their perceived lack of control. In short, if you're pro-choice ("It's my body, I can do what I want with it"), then you're pro CHOICE ("It's my body, I can do what I want with it.") Still, it's hard to justify non-altruistic suicide philosophically, in that nearly any philosophy will condemn it as a purely irrational act, primarily because it removes the very agency that is tasked with contemplating it.
