All of your friends look really happy to have taken that picture, that and they look a little sunburnt cause of the red in their faces.

 

To quote Sheldon cooper “Geology isn’t a real science”

 

The minerals, from left to right after the labradorite, are: amethyst, which looks like it was taken from a chunk of a geode, which is just quartz with some traces of iron and other materials in it that gives it it's purple hue, fluorite, chalcopyrite, which looks much nicer in person (it kind of looks like oil slick on the road after it rains), and pyrite, which is probably better known as fool's gold, and it naturally forms in that cubic shape you see in the picture and branches off of itself, which makes some really cool lookin stuff.
