spent like 4 hours on this hunk of junk mobspawner and it doesnt even work

 

Those types of spawners generally never worked all that well. You were much better better off looking for a spawner in caves and following this guide here :

 

I specifically built this one so i could get natural spawns to train McMMo skills with, because you dont get any xp from mobs that are from spawners.

Okay, so I guess its my turn!

My base is, as expected, an Iglu. But not just any Iglu! It spans down 3 floors + a railway all underground, so it seems really innocent and simple at first, but its actually quite a big base.

^From outside it seems really basic and doll, so to attract as little raiders/griefers as possible.^

^But you can see from the inside its a completely different story. I used Acacia wood and carpets + glowstone to give this cube of ice a little color.^

^This is the top floor where I keep my trophies. AND by Trophies, I mean severed heads. Yes! I love collecting players head to put them on display, and soon ill make a specific room just for these. Its also my organized chest room where I keep most of my stuff... I mean, DUHHH^

^AAAAANNND this is my second temporary farm, but this time its bamboo! Again, changes are coming to make these rooms bigger, and this room will also get Acacia walls and roof tomorrow. ^

I already did that and I'm pretty sure that's not even what is causing it to fail. If it was because of that there would be SOME mobs spawning but there's not a single mob spawning in that block.

That wouldnt be a rare sight, considering you have the most deaths on the server.

 

I made the same exact machine yesterday. I could've saved time if I knew someone built one already. Kms.
