It came back for a reason: because there was enough demand and/or Highwon himself wanted it re-added. It's a good part of the map rotation and should NOT be removed unless there was a much better replacement.
There are plenty of weapon spawns in the map, but they're clustered in five rooms that are a little ways away from the central chamber. Two are the sarcophagus rooms near the sacrifice pits, two are rooms full of water, and the fifth is the room full of boxes. In comparison to maps like Datmap, Alps, and Forest, this is a cornucopia overflowing with delicious ammunition. The ramp is hazardous, but navigable. I like the conceit of an AFK trap, but I don't think Lost Temple is doing it *quite* correctly, since modus operandi is for the traitors to sit up there and wait, then massacre them once everyone else has gone down. It makes for some gameplay that can be interesting, but often ends up a little annoying, because then only people who can afford weapons every round, or VIPs, get to experience the AFK harvest. Then, 8-10 bodies end up unidentified, unless a clever detective thinks to set a teleport exit up there, then go up after the Ts have done their work, and then track them down and murder them for their crimes. (Hint: Detectives, start doing this. You WILL get 2-3 traitor kills, and this problem will start solving itself.) I used to hate lost temple, and have come to like it somewhat more. The real problem with the map, though, is the delay. One little lost traitor can take a very, VERY long time to find his way around and eventually get an inno, even if he's chasing his radar blip. Likewise, an inno dedicated to evasion or just constant movement can keep distance more or less forever.
If you can't get down the ramp without hurting yourself, you clearly don't know how to play this game. -0.5 for repost, -0.5 for pure idiocy
either the added game music needs to be removed or the map sounds need to be disabled. They get annoying when the mpa is playing something at the same time the server is. The music fits the map, and I feel as though round end music should be removed in this one map atleast, but if you want more weapons, open up map editor and put in more spawns
Haters be hatin. Seriously Lost temple was the map of my life. All the trolls, all the traps and basically the secret.
We just played this map today... Map was so hated that a certain player (*cough* *cough* Schadenfreude STEAM_0:1:103465031) resorted to BRIBING people to RTV.
I WOULD like to state that many of these people were here when it was in rotation @wompzilla and after it was removed we had a bunch of complaints to bring it back so in the end it is staying it is a fun and easy map
Scenarios like this are basically the only things that I have seen. Due to how little I play, and by chance, I've only played on the map among groups of haters. I've only ever heard negative comments about this map, and to actually see so many people that like it actually surprised me.
bind l "stopsound" Works wonders on other maps with loud ambiance. And to reference the post: most players don't have an issue with the map, I myself enjoy the small corridors that greatly assist my ass-aim with harpoons, and I like the darkness the map has in certain parts. Lastly, to reference those posting: do keep in mind that everyone has differences and their own opinions, so please refrain from beating and bashing someone else's thoughts - note that this only applies to a few of you.
well my l is already bound, but i have p set top stopsound since i got gmod for when it would glitch on my old computer. Also, I wasn;t talking about the map sounds being removed, it just sucks when the server "talks over it"
