yeah all you gotta do is stretch the truth a bit and since these apes that we call mods only look at the response the majority of the time you can get away with anything its ez
Then when you report them you don't even get to see the evidence they've collected. You're just told to trust the mods.
"Oh, you're against our staff being shysters? Leave then!" listen, fool. how many good TTT communities are left? All of the ones I've been to either died over time due to lack of funds to keep them running, or because staff got exponentially corrupt and eventually people got sick of it and communities shriveled away. Literally nothing I'm suggesting is negative, I'm pushing for - Better player/staff communication. More in-game dialogue, utilization of the REPORT CHAT to talk to people before slaying them. - Better staff behavior and execution of protocol. Looking at LOGS and cross referencing them with shot-logs to see whose telling the truth in a report, not just punishing based on a response to a report. Stop dicking us around with this 'discretion' bullshit. If Staff can pick and choose what rules are broken and what weren't depending on who did it, then what is the point of even having those rules. - Better MODERATION of game-play, unbiased and sports-like like referees and not power-hungry policing. How is ANY OF THIS BAD. I cannot understand how there are still people who disagree with me here, It's like you guys read what I say but you don't comprehend any of it, you just try to cross-examine me and point out MY flaws, instead of trying to pursue an outcome that is beneficial for everyone. We need to remove the barrier between staff and player. Staff ARE players, they're not better or 'authorities', they're players in a game and their job, as referees, is to moderate fair and correct gameplay, not this fuckin "oh your HISTORY says that you're a bad person also because of my DISCRETION, which means I don't like you, I get to punish you even harsher! Or, you're popular, I do like you, and I'll let you off with a warning" - Thats the shit I'm trying to get rid of here. Unbiased. GAME. No drama, proper moderation. You guys are the ones taking this too seriously; not me. I'm trying to make it more casual for everyone, I'm trying to make staff act friendlier and less robotic towards players. I want more DIALOGUE between staff and players, open the report-chat more often, I NEVER see that shit being used.
isn't that what happened with Pixel and Ryan? lmao if the admins don't want to have people like you complaining, they should either make the rules either more clear or less strict. Because every time I play, I see people getting banned at least once every game, and usually it's for innate lengths of time. They have separate rules for servers, forums, and even particular maps and people still get punished because there is way too much of it to memorize. No *gaming* community needs rules of this quantity or complexity, it should just be fun. But when you ban people for five days for rdm and leave, a week for racial slurs and a month for talking on a report...yeah, you're taking things way too seriously. Like, it's bordering on elitism. I think what hongo is pushing is fair. It would be better to have staff that don't blindly obey rules and actually talk, I've played games where mods slay for false reasons, then when someone tries to call them out on it, they leave. I even have proof of two different staff doing it. I personally don't think favoritism is an issue, since I've seen mods slay their friends and even themselves [nice one btw], but most of the other stuff is a fair argument. GMOD communities are dying, but the game itself as a whole is dying. It's not something SeriousGaming can control. But in the meantime, the servers that are left need to chill tf out and remember that it's just a game
Communication: If you want better staff communication you should ask staff for answers because i can get them if i ask one. Protocol: Staff is teached to first look at the response as protocol. So this is followed. Nothing to change that. If you want another protocol i suggest you apply today and chance it when you have put time, sweat, effort and shown us you are worthy and have the knowledge to make these big decisions why? Responses are your defence not the one of the judge online. Adadaasa is not a valid defense so protocol requires a slay. Staff behaviour: If you want behaviour to chance in somebody else you should always start with yourself. If you had shown such behaviour you would've gotten a lot of support for this thread, but you lack it a lot. Powerhungry: If we do not use fair-play, then rules are not correctly applied and powers should be removed from such player. I recommend making evidence about such players and to report them through the ways of a report or to send them to their admin directly.
I have never been banned before since i am of VIP rank and all the staff are 100% fair and balanced when they handle reports
I mean, no offense or anything but you and a lot of others in the past that had a similar attitude always voice your opinion on how terribly run this place is and how it's just dying out yet each time you stick around constantly echoing the same things. I'm fairly certain you can still find some larger TTT communities out there, although I don't think you'll find one with a rule set similar to SGM so I guess that might be why you stick around which I can also understand. Anyways, those points in particular are not bad at all, I was replying to this in particular: I don't play on these servers anymore, so I honestly don't know what the quality of staff even is nowadays. I don't think intentionally doing this is going to help anyone though, you are not going to encourage them to change anything by acting like a nuisance, actually this will end up backfiring on you to be honest. This is what I never understood about this place, you people take this shit extremely personally and suddenly launch an entire vendetta against the server in order to try "force a change", that sure did this place wonders as can be seen in it's past! /s There have always been flaws in the staff team, there's no doubting that. But again, how is causing more issues going to fix things? This place is already in an extremely dire state at the moment, how is making the staff's job even harder going to make things better? Mate, I literally remember having to record you multiple times cause you thought it was fucking hillarious to micspam at random intervals along with you twisting the rules around in each report you got involved in and like the typical case at that time you'd try your best to create a court case over a pretty obvious report. If you changed that behavior good on you, this was the past I hope. But don't expect me to suddenly think you're an angel trying to be the good Samaritan for this server.. it's not that simple. Anyways, best of luck with whatever this is, but just try and remember you're playing Garry's Mod and most people here are voluntarily giving their time to oversee your server.
Both these guys are awesome and i have nothing bad to say about them. What really happened can be found here: https://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/it-is-not-worth-it-to-leak.52104/ I believe highwon can still describe it best himself as i am not good with words
Jeez this thread is just becoming a toxic post at this point. I agree 100% with @Dwardu if you hate the place then just leave. I agreed with your first premise about how teroxa has been inactive and how that should've been handled better but by giving someone else the responsibilities? You realize only highwon can make a lead. Long story short you were right but now you're just bitching.
This thread was originally about Teroxa not handling Reports in a time frame that OP found acceptable, and what followed was a reasonable debate on whether or not Teroxa should or should not resign. While these topics are polarizing, and we all may not agree, we want to keep these threads somewhat focused. If you have a comment about the topic at hand, feel free to post it, but this isn't just a catch all thread for recent grievances. I don't want to close this thread, but I am afraid I will be forced to if it cannot remain on topic. Thanks.
Wait wtf, I may have been lurking for the most part but I'm pretty sure your name just went orange, congrats bro!
