This is the first of the developer logs I mentioned, where I will go over details and hint at specific elements of the map that will help aid in your gameplay experience. Whilst this will mainly revolve around the processes to reach the secret knife, I'll try to keep it broad as there is a bit more to this map than you might first think. This comes with the possibility of the map being added to the server today, once a particular staff member (@Sinz) comes back online. Though notably the set-up may take a tad longer than usual, as this map will be delivered through the Steam Workshop System. With that said; the map will only be a swift 17MB Workshop download, as apposed to a 75MB Server download. This system will also allow me to update the map dynamically and implement fixes at any time, without you having to redownload the map each time. More information to come later on.
So throwing the prop/nade (I'm assuming a smoke would work as well) will only work one way for the glass as opposed to people shooting it and having it break via that method? Neat!
After weeks and weeks of pushed off dates, my messages not going through, and download uplinks failing.. Code: Sinz: It'll be added. This just after the very first public test the map received today, over on East 1. Everything went relatively smoothly, for the most part anyways. For any staff who received a preview copy, make sure to disable the associated workshop files otherwise you'll receive a "Your map [data] differs from the server's." error and have the inability to join. If you notice any particular bugs or glitches, please report it in this thread so it may be fixed at a later point in time. Considering how quickly trick information (such as that regarding the secret knife) has spread, I will most likely put up an official guide to these things at a later date. Wait, shouldn't this have been placed in Suggestions, not in General Discussion in the first place? I mean, it is a map suggestion after all, unless it was forethought to be added
This was not a map suggestion, this was a debut of a custom map specifically made for STTT. Otherwise it would've said 'suggestion' rather than 'debut', and people would've been voting on it. Production began shortly after I first joined the community about a year ago now. The owner, Highwon, and various users hopped on the idea of revamping an old CS 1.6 version of the map, and I was given the task as the community's Map Developer at the time. However it was horribly buggy from the decompile and lacked any type of optimization, and eventually corrupted. At the time I was far too busy with other projects and Moderating/Administrating, and archived the project completely. That until recently when I decided to dust it back off and finish it, resulting in this thread and it's addition to the server.
Yo @Yawn. there are some weird visual bugs with the glass, if you're aware? Like the glass in the main 2 buildings have weird pixely lines diagonally if you look at the sky behind glass.
