Are you...telling sam to ask you the same question again in a private convo? Why not just privately answer the question yourself instead of waiting for that useless step?
Yes, I agree that mods/admins are abusing there positions of power Why? They don't slay me when asked and RDM is valid. They always forgive when I RDM them. They never mute for chat spam anymore
This thread is filled with memes and spam for the last few pages, why isn't this in off-topic if people can't stick to the subject at hand?
That's just common knowledge to those who have access to IP bans. Dark RP staff has access too. It's not abusing. Plus using said ability to check IP's helps them with ban evasion problems.
not gonna lie.. staff are fuckin abusive. once I rdmed like 5 people and I got banned for mass rdm. That's stupid.. I didn't even rdm that much. Oh and Pacifist wouldn't lemme suck his toes either so... Abusive staff.
@Pacifist care to explain buddy? You gotta let saturn suck on your toes man.... I thought you were better than this.
Spoiler: e I don't really think there is a serious issue with mod/admin abuse here. Sure, we've had staff that abused their power but they all end up reported and taken care of anyway. This seems more like bitching the entire staff team is c̴͏̴͡o͠͝͡҉ŕ̶͞͞r͡҉u͝p͜t̷̸̨͘͡. , if you really think that then what do you expect them to do? All resign and make you guys lead?
I don't think there's abuse going on, however, I do believe that at times, some staff members can be a bit too hasty with delivering punishments and ignore greater details of things like reports, context, and over arcing situations. Otherwise, staff are doing a fine job. It's a very stressful position and requires a lot of devotion and restraint; I know because although I've been staff of varying ranks on various servers. Sometimes staff do make mistakes; that's a given. We're all human and if we didn't make mistakes, then we would no longer have personality or emotions. When staff do make mistakes, don't take it as abuse, but as an error and report it so that they can learn.
It's reeeeaally difficult to get some very specific people to stop complaining without punishing them(at least in game), because they aren't complaining for a fair reason, but if it's a case of the person actually feeling it is unjust or not as well explained, I agree that that's something that staff can work on. The problem is that every staff is different, and every situation is different, there isn't in particular a standard staff training for how to handle/respond to player questions/reports/appeals. There is a policy of being polite, presenting evidence, explaining the situation, etc; but what it comes down to if it's not handled properly or if it can be improved, is waiting to see what the staff member does and then seeing if something can be improved from their response, though sure if it's a problem or at risk of becoming a problem staff can pull that staff member aside and talk to them about it and go from there, specifically as a mod your admin is supposed to handle those concerns even if they're not exactly against the rules of conduct for staff, if you have a specific concern with a mod/admin it's completely fair to open a conversation with their superior to talk to them about it, doesn't have to be a report. Furthermore, mods have a monthly Evaluation from their admin, where the admins talk about how the mod is doing, how good their activity is, how good their forum presence is, how good their knowledge of the rules are, disposition, etc... they make their comments about it, things they noticed during the month, if there's something that they think the mod could improve. It's pretty helpful, and admins do that even if it's just things they or other staff noticed personally (heck even if there's no problem, just to give that bit of feedback), not only when some other player complained. Basically my conclusion is that the current system worked for me, and seems to be working for other staff, and maybe there's room for improvement for particular staff members in responses to the player on reports or in game. If it isn't caught or handled by their admin, though, or it's something you think should be mentioned to their admin, you can do it yourself, they tend not to judge and explain things if they disagree, and they will be able to do something about it. - It's an informal system, but it works. Maybe the fact that that system exists could be a bit more visible to players, but I don't know if it's worth putting in the rules, usually mods will tell you yourself that you can bring it to their admin, but the staff team is a bit different now and it was never really a requirement (at least I don't think so) so things might not be done that way anymore. (this is such a tangent, but hope my perspective helps you and the staff in some way) btw I typed this before the thread was locked, so don't blame me if I'm responding to something from the last page and is not immediately relevant

One of the old staff members when i was staff literally took one of my cooking recipes, made it better, and bragged they made good food without crediting me. Does this constitute as staff abuse?
That really depends on if they posted the improved recipe and took credit or not. What recipe was it?
It was CrawFish Etouffee, they didnt really post the recipe , they posted the result and said it was their recipe, and everyone liked it more than when i originally made it.
Heyo, 8BitF0x here. I'll like to give my opinion here on what I think about the thread and the thread's question. To begin with, the thread is honestly funny to see people arguing back in forth with no end, and the to answer the question 'Are Mods/Admin Abusive?'. Honestly, I don't fucking know, google it.
