I disagree, The amount of times I see players get gagged and still continue with their bullshit it's unbelievable high.
Banning them as a last result makes sure that they get the message loud and clear :c

Something nobody brought up yet: when you mute people, you also lose all game information from them - you won't hear KOSs, nor will you hear yourself being KOSd.

Personally, I'd much rather vastly reduce the mic battery, since you're currently able to talk for 30 seconds every 60 seconds - and I believe that even goes up with ranks as well.

 

You’re still able to view suit zoom callouts in chat even if you have them muted, you just can’t see them manually type out KOSes, which most people these days use suit zoom.

 

I thought you were referring to mic spam interfering with game information - not muting people.

Sorry, I was referring to voice chat KOSs (since this thread is about mic spam).

 

Honestly, I think MicSpam should be a bannable offense if it is annoying. Voice Changers and Sound boards as long as they are not annoying should be allowed and not considered mic spam.

Static, playing music repeatedly, screaming for long periods of time, breathing into the mic, holding your mic down and hearing everyone through that mic, nonsense noise, eating your mic. Should all be considered mic spam.

However, having someone that uses a sound board like optimal. When his sound board says “Health Station” and stuff like that. Shouldn’t be considered spam. Spamming a repeated of things. Not someone using a sound board just to say Health Station.

Now that is just being way too strict on the rules.

Reason this just doesn't work:

First of all, there has to be a harsher punishment after being gagged for a round, because what would be the point of being gagged all fuckin game...

Then think about this real quick:

Staff members can't mute people locally, because they need to be able to hear everything going in the game to point out harassment, KOS's, etc. And if someone is just spamming loud shit that blocks them from hearing anyone else's microphones they can't tell exactly what's going on, nor enjoy the game themselves...

So yeah this doesn't work out man
