This was discussed many times in the past, and I still don't see any good reason to change this.
    • Server stress: transmitting the logs, the death scenes and the rest of the data attached to them back and forth between the server and the client is not cheap at all. Don't forget our logs come loaded with a lot of custom features that most servers don't have, and our servers generally have more systems and features. What works on other servers won't necessarily work in ours. One or two moderators checking the logs once in a while is okay - dozens of players checking them constantly is definitely not. Even without death scenes, there is still a lot of data going through. We'll end up with a lot of lag and higher latency as the server struggles to deal with all the data transmissions.
    • Let the staff do their job: this is what we are supposed to do. While I understand some of you are interested in quickening the process by taking some of the load off us, this is our job. You don't "waste" the staff's time by sending reports and asking questions, valid or not - that's exactly what we're supposed to do. That's why they're here.
    • You already have basic logs: the end round logs which you can print to your console provide you with a basic overview of what happened during the round. In most cases it should be enough for you to figure your situation. If not - just ask the staff to check it. Again, this is our job.
    • And finally - what do we even get from this? Let's say you found your incident needs to be handled. Now what? You send a report or notify the staff, and... they investigate it anyway. From scratch. We cannot rely on anything but the data we have in the logs, and if we have any questions or we're missing anything we'll ask the players anyway. We go through the exact same process, whether or not you have this extra info in your hands. So... why bother? The only benefit we can potentially get is less reports from more experienced players who can figure it out themselves, while the majority of players who are less experienced will report anyway. And if a player doesn't agree? That's what we have the reports forum for, where the logs, death scenes and any other data will gladly be provided if one is so certain the staff's judgement is incorrect.
The benefits from such an action are minimal at best, and definitely don't outweigh the negatives. I'm sorry, but this just isn't needed.

Less reports after players find they didnt get RDMd.
With above, could end up in much less reports as moderator joins the server, players dont have to report something that "might" had been RDM.
Players can report Mass RDMers better when theres no staff. (Overall forum reports)
Players dont have to waste asking multiple times(happens A LOT)for info on something they could reach in no time.
Staff could point out easier to someone arguing against them what actually happened and why something is/isnt RDM.

Honestly since we arent getting normal damagelogs, atleast can we get a system where we can see current end round logs also next round? The biggest issue is:

    Some quick benefits:

    1. You could look into your death to verify it was RDM / not RDM.
    2. The above point would result in a drop in reports, such as a player realizing that they walked over an unID'd in the deathscene.
    3. You could use the logs to quickly verify if someone was a repeat offender - Ex: I don't report people when they RDM me, but if I knew it was something continuous, I would.
    4. You could easily show an uncooperative reporter / recipient why you chose your verdict.
    5. You could report mass RDM across rounds efficiently.
    6. You could report RDM without having to worry about time restraints and/or unclear logs.
    7. You could gather clear evidence without constant spectating for offenses such as metagaming, loopholing, and even hacking.
    8. Overall, it could take some work off staff to play the game more and interact versus sitting in spectator / afk handling reports. Even if that's their job, this would make things easier for staff.

There's more, but the point I'm getting at is that this would be beneficial. There should be no question about that. If server stress is too much of an issue for stuff like deathscenes, I can understand that. I don't think what Jassa suggested ( longer current end round logs ) would be too stressful.

Finally a real argument for the No logs side from Opalium. I am referring to the server stress he is concerned about. I'm not sure myself about how this additional data transmission will impact server performance, but I believe the many benefits this brings about would probably outweigh it, and you can always monitor performance before and after to measure the effect. If its actually an issue, trim down whats given to non-staff until it isn't, or if not possible, remove it and go back to square one. You don't lose anything other than some time for just *trying* the suggestion. As many have stated, this is the norm on other servers, and regular players love the access for the many reasons stated above.
