I'm literally in a course in university that is about preparing for university. Only doing it for the free credit because the advice it gives is dumb shit like "don't cheat on your exams" and "don't do drugs" and "study for your classes every day" like bro do you think I care?
The only advice worth listening to is this: Show up. Don't skip classes. The average cost per credit hour in the US is $317 or damn near $1000 per course that you take. Imagine paying $1000 to get to Disney world and then never going on any of the rides. You might as well just throw your money down the godamn drain. Even if the class is stupid and only required for general ed, you might as well get every pennies worth, considering you are paying for it.
I mean I'm not in the US so it's quite a bit cheaper for me, but still yeah I'm going to at least pass every class, even the ones I hate.
