Betting system, need your input

This is a great idea.

 

Here is my idea. The buy in for betting on each harpoon round is a flat 300 point bet on 1 player to win that will be put into a pot. You chose to opt in or opt out prior to the harpoon round and if nobody bets correctly the pot gets carried over to the next harpoon round. Not sure of the difficulty of implementing this but with enough interest somebody could look into it.

 

there must also be a time limit to bet when you die or else people would wait until there are 2 people left to improve there chances.

 

That's the sole reason why I wouldn't personally encourage betting in normal rounds, but betting would be perfect for harpoon rounds, since we already do it anyways, just without the actual system :lol:

 

+1 for betting on harpoon rounds and when there is 1 inno/detective and 1 traitor left.

 

This should only be for harpoon rounds .

 

I say you put in an amount on a team or person to win. If you win you double or gain money and if you don't win you don't have any money left. Also you can only do it with over 1/2 of the players still alive. You must also be dead. I would also suggest a cap for points 500 maybe.

 

Youd be betting the house essentially.

 

I really like the idea of betting for Harpoon Wars; bringing up a menu for 30 seconds or so after you die where you can select which player and how many points you can win. I would make the cap 300 points, so no one is making more points than the player that actually wins the round, otherwise it may cause people to die as early as possible to place a bet on someone that is really good.
