Do you think what happened, should have happened?
That a person gets slain for RDM for killing someone when there are only two people playing on the server?
That's my only point. You're the one that tried to change details.
Answer the question. Yes or no. A person should be slain for killing someone when there are only two active players on the whole server.
Why are all the staff so afraid to actually address this issue?
Because Jabba had a bad take, and none of you can publicly disagree with him?
I think it's fucking obvious that this is bullshit, and you all have to reach for whatever thin straws lets you deflect from the actual issue so it doesn't have to be addressed.
Alright then, I personally would not have reported in that situation; however, Sanchez was completely within his right as both a moderator and a player to report Trash. Trash RDM’d, he gets slain. What do you think kills population quicker: RDMers getting slain, or RDMers getting to RDM without punishment?
Lol, none of us are afraid to “speak out” against Jabba. Your QnA reads more like a report, and can be answered by simply reading the Ori/Sanchez report.
Yes or no:
A person should be slain for killing someone else when there are two active people on the entire server.
It's a binary question. Not a conditional one. It's not about 'Did Sanchez technically act within the rules' or not- We already know he did. It's about should it have happened, how is it not toxic and loopholing as fuck?
I know you're all more intelligent than this. I know many of you at least somewhat personally. You know what I'm asking here. You know the point I'm making. And you're dodging it, over and over and over again.
because RDM is RDM. Granted in the proposed case it didn't have too big an effect on the game, but if we were to just allow it to happen, that becomes a slippery slope
But it's *not* a slippery slope.
It's a binary
As a fact, are there only two active players?
Yes: It's not RDM
No: It's RDM.
It is *actually impossible* to play TTT with just two people.
It can't be random if there is only one option.
There were 3 players alive. While it may not be as exciting, that still constitutes a game of TTT. I have just given you my answer, as many of us already have, so there is no justification to say we are dodging it.
Except one player was obviously AFK. They were not playing the game in any way. It was 1v1. You would have to be playing make-believe to say that there are three players in that scenario. But more than that:
Sanchez had the power to put them into F-spec
Instead, he chose to report and get the second player slain repeatedly. While it might not be malicious, that is the definition of toxic gameplay.
How do you justify that?
I don't think it's toxic for him to be reported. I don't give a shit about sanchez not f-speccing. If sanchez had been literally about to fspec him it wouldn't have changed anything. It still would be RDM
Please elaborate your position. Because I can't comprehend how it is possibly conducive to good gameplay.
I think you've forgotten something very very basic:
The goal of moderation is for fun and conducive gameplay. It's not to punish people.
Sanchez had three options:
Report/Punish
F-spec
Just roll with it
He chose the only option which had gave another player a negative experience, having plenty of opportunities to change his option. In what world is that not toxic?
As I have now said multiple times, it is still RDM. h3llflush or whoever the hell the afk player was could have come back in the time between then and overtime. Even if he hadn't it would not have been too long of a wait. Sanchez made the decision to report. Complain about it all you want, but it is not at all "toxic" to attempt to deter trash from RDMing
Yes, I know the technical rules. The technical rules have never been in dispute.
How is this conducive to good gameplay? You are absolutely bullshitting me if you are trying to explain this away with 'deterrence'. As an inno, TTT is about finding and eliminating the threat your team faces. Sanchez is the only possible threat when only two people are playing.
The whole reason we have the rule where you may only kill AFks in overtime is because there is always a chance they may come back. Regardless of if he was AFK or not, he is still in the game
Once again, not here to debate the technical ruleset.
Once again, the goal of a moderation is the promotion of fun and conducive gameplay.
Once again I ask you: How is what Sanchez did aligned with this?
By your logic, F-spec should never be used.
The point of reporting Trash for RDM is to stop him from doing it again in the future. Sanchez is still a player, he absolutely has the right to report if he gets RDMed. There is no reason Trash should be forgiven just to "promote fun".
