What does linking my Discord account mean?
Linking your Discord account means associating your forum account with your Discord account, creating a permanent link between the two. This in turn allows our Discord bot to identify you on the forum and perform extended actions.

Can I join without linking my account?
Yes! You are free to join the server even without linking your account, by clicking the banner above. However, as an unlinked user, you will have some limitations over your usage of the server.

What are the benefits of having a linked account?
Authenticated users have access to all of the channels in our Discord server, can fully interact with MrSerious, can create their own channels, have a higher message rate limit, can use external emojis, can use the Shoutbox channel, and are allowed to use voice activity in voice channels.

Can I unlink or change my linked Discord account after I link it?
No. Linking your account is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

Why are you limiting users who do not link their account?
There are multiple reasons. First, we use this as a security measurement and a way to protect our server from spammers, raiders, malicious bots and other trouble makers. Second, some features, like the Shoutbox<->Discord link, require a link between your forum account and your Discord account. Third, we want to encourage more users to take part in our community and become regulars, and creating a forum account is a great way to start.

Does this allow SGM or its staff to access my Discord account?
No. The only access our systems receive is to your Discord user ID, display name and avatar, and the ability to add you to our server automatically. We cannot use our authorization for any other use, and you can confirm this in the authorization page from Discord's website you are redirected to when you link your account.
