https://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/report-against-woet.55799/ In the report linked above, I report Woet for not properly handling my report. What happened is I was RDMed by a detective who was harassing me the entire night. I reported him in-game, and he was given a slay by Woet. However, that slay was quickly removed because that player told Woet that I tried to propkill him. After handling that report, he left without reviewing any other reports that would show that player was loopholing. I have seen and been a part of disputes on the server in the past very similar to this, and they have been resolved by one simple question: 'Do you have any video evidence?' That was not asked, and Jabba told me that "He doesn't have to ask you for anything." So, my question is when is and isn't video evidence necessary? When is it deemed that it's not important to resolve the issue completely without a doubt, and video evidence isn't needed? I ask because I have not been on in over 6 weeks, so things may have changed that I'm not aware of (besides the extended rules), and I'd like to avoid making similar false reports again.
Staff doesn't need to ask you if you have video evidence ever. The report is handled with what is on hand and maybe a couple questions. It is assumed that if you have video evidence you will alert the mod to it, usually when the report is finished and the slay hasn't been added. Or when you ask the mod "Why wasn't he slain" the mod will respond saying that it's word vs word or the ds was corrupted etc and he doesn't have enough evidence to slay, in which case you can volunteer your evidence.
When a map changes staff are no longer able to view the deathscene to a report (unless its already been viewed, in which case they should have a file saved locally) . In the example given Woet decided to give a user a slay due to the damage appearing to be random and no valid reason being given. He later clarifies that this was due to you attempting to propkill him. Due to this the report had become a word vs word situation and Woet removed the slay as he would not be able to review the appropriate deathscenes because of the map changing. In some instances users may attempt to abuse this and loophole out of slays etc. If a user is caught doing this they will likely receive an extended punishment. Video evidence is necessary when the evidence provided by the server or the moderators recording isn't enough to confirm if a report is valid or not. This could happen in a variety of cases, for example map changes or voice chat warnings for explosive equipment use. If you do have evidence of a user attempting to loophole, I'd recommend sending it to the staff on the server.
I usually record in long clips due to repeat harassment which is why I didn't volunteer it first. When he removed the slay, he had the audacity to tell me to [stop false reporting] without asking for any evidence, which is pretty inappropriate considering he didn't bother to understand the situation. I didn't get the chance to ask woet why his slay was removed, because Woet left right after slandering me, and before he handled any other report which would prove the user was loopholing. Guess he got his hours in. Thank you for the clarification, that helps. You can close this.
