so today, I was slain for breaking a rule that I have never even known was a rule throughout my entire time playing TTT. This rule is "You cannot kill a person for not following a KOS." If a person is called out as a T, and another person sees that called out person but does not shoot them, then I am not allowed to kill them. This is a ridiculous rule made for the reason that not everyone sees said KOS or hears it, but if this person has been called out multiple times, it is not my fault that they did not hear or see the multiple KOS's. Obviously, I should be able to kill a person if they are not killing a called out T. I strongly resent this rule and wish that it be changed. I was told that I am the only one to ever have a problem with this rule. This is because it does not happen a lot, so people do not even know about the rule and everybody actually follows the KOS's that are called out. However, for the handful of times that people do not follow the KOS's, I believe it should be okay to kill them. If you think that I am wrong, would you please tell me why? "because it has been around for a while" would not be a valid answer to this question.
Also, I have scanned through the rules and extended rules several times and have not found this rule anywhere on there. Can the person who made the rules actually include all of the rules before I am slain for breaking said rules? It would be appreciated.
Many reasons why we shouldn't change this rule. Not everyone keeps track of KOSes, sometimes it hard to keep track of all of them. False KOSes are called all the time, some people won't kill the player unless they directly witness the player committing traitorous acts The player may have information that other players don't know about; being proven by tester/shooting a traitor, etc. Source: http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/...ded-rules-info-tips-tricks.12605/#post-135374
I understand your disagreement with this rule, but there is alot of reasons why it's implemented. I will try and list a few to help you understand this rule better. Some people may not hear the KOS (as you mentioned) T's can call false KOS on innocents so people that disagree with the KOS may do so. Some people might forget or maybe not even realise a person that has a KOS is in there proximity This is why the rule is in effect as players have a choice in every action they make good or bad. The whole game mode runs of player judgement and detective skills, not having this rule would ruin that aspect slightly. this rule also acts as a Fail-safe, saving the less experienced players from having a disappointing round due to them not acknowledging a KOS'd player is in there proximity. T: Traitor KOS: Kill on sight
I don't follow KOSes often. Unless I see the player commit a T act, or I trust the person calling the kos, I will usually not act on a kos. I do this intentionally because sometimes people are pretty bad at this game. I've seen people kill provens or call a kos on people who are tested. Also, if I hear you call a kos on someone that I'm watching not commit any traitorous acts, I will mark you as kill and find you
