The word Autism banned?

I didn't realize till now that last Thursday someone reported me for some random comment I made. Wasn't even directed at him or anything and I think it got me banned for 8 hours.

He reported me for "insulting comments" but I've generally mentioned things like this before and no one not even mods have said anything about. What do the mods here have to say?

 

It can be viewed as disrespectful, especially in the context you decided to use it in. "theres fat autistic kids everywhere" which many would interpret as you referring to overweight people to be autistic as well, or insulting the population of the server by stating this.

 

The way you're phrasing it sounds like you're insulting other players. The term 'autism' is not banned at all. The only times the term can become troublesome is when you're using it in a negative context towards other players.

 

The word Autism itself is not banned. But here is an example:
"My friend has Autism" - GOOD; will not get you in trouble.
"This person is an autistic bi*ch." - BAD; using the adjective form of this to describe someone negatively will get you in trouble.

 

That was never my intention though and I think the person who reported me should take the comment light heartedly. It is garrys mod after all and I hope it didnt strike a nerve with him I was generally poking fun like everyone else does on the server.

 

They thought ill of your intentions, be careful about what you say.

 

If the mods have not said things, its probably because :
1. They didn't see it.
2. No one was offended by the comment. (that they know about)

If someone personally contacts a staff member using the @ function saying that your comment has offended them for whatever reason is when the staff generally step in.
Alot of people dont take offense to blatant comments, but when the comment relates to them or maybe their family member they will be offended.

 

Ok I guess I just have to stay light on my toes then. Its a pity though I generally like the immature aspect of serious TTT.

 

But he is saying he enjoys being immature, i'm explaining a way he can do it without being offensive.

 

That's not something you should be suggesting.

 

Its better then suggesting him run around being offensive is it not?

Ask anybody I was a generally immature player myself, its very easy to do without being offensive.

Try killing anyone for doing stupid things:
like saying: Im proven with T weapon. DIE!
if you have no proof of them being proven with your own eyes.
Then when they complain for 5 minutes just be like please stop being mad babe.
