Had this little idea earlier. When a staff member joins a server the chat gets a little message. Something along the lines of "Carned has joined the server, if you have any problems, please use @ to contact them!" I feel this would allow people to quickly notice the staff members arrival, and can have any problems sorted easier. Also i don't think, don't quote me, but it shouldn't be too difficult to implement and is well worth the benefits and interaction it will bring.
+1 I join the servers, and I sometimes hear players saying that there isn't any staff on the server, or if there is staff. I think this small note in chat would help out players in-game know that any problems the player(s) have can be assisted with.
But then you can't be sneaky and have people break the rules without noticing a staff member is online, which sometimes results in double the punishment! *If you're an admin.
Easy peasy. Just check if the player is in the group "Mod". Have a message displayed and wrap it up it'll be ready
Now that I think about it, sometimes it's good to join a staffleas server incognito and see how people act without staff online. And I think that the ones who are really the majority should have the incognito option. Hell, make it an F1 setting lol.
Nvm. Just get this and make it if so the group is mod, then display the message http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,6036.msg28433.html
Have it toggleable in the ulx menu. "Message on join: On/Off" so if you want players to rejoice or if you wanna be sneaky, you can have it your way.
I say that when you join you should be given the option to have the msg pop or not. I love the idea tho +1.
Sounds like a cool idea, however I would prefer incognito mode and bust a harasser or something. Always feel like a ninja when that happens.
To all the people that like to go incognito, the important part is to stop the RDM/harassment/whatever by any means necessary, and then to give the punishment. You're better off stopping someone at 2 RDMs and slaying them twice than letting them continue on to 4 so you can ban longer.
