Hey guys, Rek here. The first time I became moderator, I had an issue where someone called out his T-buddies in chat to troll. I had no other evidence he was trolling so I could not ban him for trolling. Now what I could do was slay him for essentially kosing his own T-mates obviously if they died because of the kos. Now this seems a little off. Calling out T-buddies in public chat is not necessarily very harshly punished, but doing it in private chat is ghosting? What I'm suggesting here is that it falls under the category of Metagaming. Now this only makes logical sense as Metagaming is taking crucial aspects of the game and throwing their true roles out the window in substitute for usually trollish gameplay. Ex. Letting people into T room when you're right there and you don't kill eachother, giving c4 to detective and having him plant it for you, placing C4 in front of people and having them defuse it, then doing it again and again until they get a bad wire, etc. If calling out your T-buddies in chat is NOT game throwing, I don't know what is. Just my thoughts, hasn't happened in a while for me, but just came to mind randomly today. Post ideas, suggestions below. @Darktooth
One reason that ghosting is so harshly punished is that it is harder to catch. Considering we do not monitor all private chat. Also ghosting is more game-breaking because it is usually done from a dead player to an alive player, which goes against the point of cutting off chat from dead players. While calling out your t-buddies does go against the game, so does killing them, and basically what you do by calling them out is cause their death, so it is treated as rdm
