Hey guys, so my hands got itchy and I'm finally looking at parts for my next build. I would like to avoid my past mistakes in solely choosing parts from recommendations, so I'm trying to be more conservative this time around. This is what I currently have set-up. Please let me know what your thoughts are, or if anything should be changed. Note: I do have spare parts from a previous build to throw around. This is just the full build for what I would like to see.
I wouldn't get a liquid cooler for a locked CPU, it just doesn't make any sense. Get an air cooler and save $50, possibly put it towards a better GPU. As for the SSD, I would go with one of Samsung's 840 EVo series, they're cheaper and in my opinion, as with most of the rest of the PC world's, are the best there is right now. Your PSU is also a little pricey, you could get one of EVGA's SuperNova series that's 80+ bronze certified for less and it really wouldn't make that much of a difference on your Power Bill since the overall wattage of your build is only ~263 Watts. My only last concern is a personal one. The NZXT Phantom case, while it looks cool, is complete shit. I have one myself (a Full Tower) and its the only thing in my build that I regret wholeheartedly. Check out Antec and Corsair for cases, they're around the same pricepoint for a midtower and from experience on helping friends with them, are much better than NZXT. Other than that, it looks pretty good.
This would be my first experience with water cooling of any sort, so it's more of a splurging type thing. I understand that it's not need at all lol As for an air cooler, I have an older after market corsair to use. For the SSD the Samsung EVO was my 2nd option, I opted to go for the Crucial ssd purely for economical reasons as the price/GB was the best. The case though, I'm willing to look further into. Thanks for the opinions thus far!
