soo many times have I been killed by people using the Unid body excuse. And have gone back and seen no body that I could have possibly ID in the first place. It's currently being exploited as a loophole to get out of a slay.

A revision of this would be as follows:

If the player passes an Un-ID inform them of the body in chat. If they refuse to ID. Kill them.

If they come out of a room and there is an UN-ID behind them with no other access points, kill them, otherwise referr to the above.

And if they obviously look at the body. LOOKING AT THE BODY. And they walk past it, they can choose to inform or kill.

If a player is giving chase to a T and happen to run past an UN-ID, don't even mention it. That person is busy taking down a T.

I say this because so many times and I've seen it so many times that people are being killed because they happen to walk past an UN-ID without noticing it and get RDMed for it. And there is litterly nothing you can do. If someone is distracted by something and then happen to pass an UN-ID then a Trigger happy player blows his brains out. Even if that player is proven!

The changes were the detailed version of this change but this gist of it is that if someone is pre occupied and didn't see it. Then it's not ok to kill them. But if it's obvious they have seen the body but they don't ID it, then yes kill them. If they pass one, inform them, if they come from a corridor like area or a room with 1 door(with the room inform them still unless gunshots were heard from the room) and there is a body behind them, kill them.

How much of this shows in logs? How will the mod know if the person looked directly at it except going word vs word? The proposed revision does not decrease a player's ability to loophole the rule

I don't really think this rule change would really improve anything when it comes to unid bodies, it can still be easily loopholed. With your suggestion all I could see happening is that instead of "they passed an unid" you'd just see them say "they were obviously looking at the unid" or "I asked them in voice and they ignored me". Since you said, if it's obvious then kill them and if it's not ask them, how do we define "obvious"? Wouldn't it vary greatly between players? This won't really be stopping any loopholers. -1

Sadly I completely agree. I'm just hoping that this would help or spark some form of controversy. Or something to address this serious problem. As amazing as Serious is this is a problem. Better way to put it would be to remove the Kos to an inform and if they refuse then kill. So an innocent would have no reason to refuse. If they do they get shot. But it should be an inform. Not a Kos.

The best thing to do is record demos. If you truly did not have any unID's anywhere in your line of sight the drive mode will prove it, allowing to move the camera around so you can see the entire area around you. This allows the true loopholers to get caught and will show you when other players were simply trigger happy about killing you for an unID'd you didn't notice. Being trigger-happy about un-IDs has its own disadvantage of lowering karma and thus damage for the next round or 2 or risking a karma ban

See thats what everyone says. "just record demos" yes this is a soultion but why should the players have to do something in advance so they can pin someone down for doing something like this. the UN-ID needs reworking, because right now its just a loophole for RDMers

Because there has not been a good enough idea for a rework on the rule that would actually solve the problem

Sounds like you're trying to change how people play and not how the rules are written and that just won't happen.

In order for TTT to be balanced, the rule has to have some grey area.

It's usually the good ol' common sense that many people lack, or they see it as an excuse to use their itchy trigger finger. Obviously when I see someone kill a person and run, I don't bother IDing the body, I take them down, then return to ID the unfortunate innocent. When I see this occurring involving other players, I realize the situation and just ID the body and hope the player tracked down the traitor. When following someone and they pass an UNided, I always ask them "hey, did you see that body? why didn't you ID it?" and 9/10 times they say "oh crap, I didn't, lemme do that". Bam, rdm report averted. I just think a lot of people need to be less on edge and trigger happy and more open to asking before shooting.

If you are getting shit on by people for not iding bodys. Just try to stay out of areas with alot of people and record incase they are loopholeing.
