Time of Occurence: 25:00PM Reason For Report: 1 lb cleaned calamari tubes cut into rings, and tentacles left whole juice of 1/2 a lemon 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp cayenne 1/2 tsp paprika 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup buttermilk or milk vegetable or canola oil for deep frying marinara sauce, lemon wedges, or aioli, for serving, optional Evidence And/Or Witnesses: Place the calamari into a bowl with the lemon juice, and let sit for 30 minutes. This will tenderize the calamari. Preheat frying oil to 375 degrees F, either in a deep fryer or a large cast iron pot, no more than 1/2 full. In a medium bowl, whisk to combine the flour, cayenne, paprika, and salt. Add half of this mixture to another medium bowl. Place the buttermilk or milk in a third bowl. Place the three bowls on the counter in the following order: spiced flour, buttermilk, and spiced flour. Remove the calamari from the lemon juice, then dredge each piece in the flour, shaking off any excess, then into the buttermilk, shaking off the excess, then back into the second bowl of flour. Repeat this process with all the calamari. Fry the calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes total, until golden brown. Then drain on a paper towel and immediately salt the calamari generously so the salt sticks. Serve with marinara sauce and lemon wedges, if desired. Enjoy!
As the official lawyer of SGM, I find the Deathrun staff team to be indefensible. Waiting for judge Chad to be unbanned to declare a verdict on this.
Now, while I do agree there exist plenty of fair criticisms of the SGM Staff Team, I do not agree with this thread and the impossible demand it makes. For you see, @Day is requesting the SGM Staff Team server him a calamari dinner. Calamari is the common culinary name for squid as food. [1] However, if you were to view Day's profile section, he lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. [2] Assuming Day were to receive his calamari from Rhode Island, a major distributor of squid in the United States of America, the best time to catch squid has sadly passed. [3] The primary season for catching squid is in May through potentially the Summer, when the temperature of the water is the most ideal for the squid. [4] [5] As a result, it would be an unnecessary burden on the SGM Staff Team to try and acquire the squid for Day's calamari dinner. Not only would the cost be above the fair market price, but would Day truly enjoy an out-of-season calamari dinner? These are the types of questions I would like the community to ask itself. Dangerous it is to set such a rash precedent where the SGM Staff Team must be demanded to meet such impossible tasks. I hope you all come to see my side of the argument is the position with the best future of SGM in mind. Thank you and I am truly sorry for your lose Day.
