this player smashed me with the sign prop, doing 7 damage to me, so i killed him. @JonD said that it would have shown in the logs, and the player here in the screenshot even admitted to hitting me with a prop " you ran into it" though he launched the sign when i was there. So that is why i killed him. I had a valid reason to kill him

I was there during it and witnessed it, but prop damage doesn't always show in logs. Yeah?

Hello PwnerOfThePeanut I hope your day is going well,
You were slain for rdm. As you can see there was no prop damage. When there is prop damage though it always shows up in the logs. Every report that I have taken that involves prop damage I see it. Both Cherry and myself came to the verdict that it was rdm. The picture of the person messaging you was never brought up to either myself or Cherry. @Darktooth please tell me if I did anything wrong.
    Thank you,
    JonD

@JonD actually prop damage does not always show up in the logs, and even then throwing a prop at someone is still a traitorous act, whether it damaged them or not.

    Hello @PwnerOfThePeanut,

Thank you so much for reporting this, @JonD & @Cherry Slurpee will respond at their earliest conveniences.

However, I will provide my input on this matter. Prop damage and prop killing are very gray areas of the logs, often times when a player gets propkilled their death shows up in the logs as "world" as in <something/world> has killed Player [innocent], and on your side the kill message says "You were killed by the world". In situations like these, most reports that include prop killing are immediately word verses word unless a staff member witnesses the kill or damage. It is very easy to assume that you RDMed because the damage dealt to you will not always show in the logs. JonD and Cherry being new staff members, that is very easy to confuse. If that screenshot was taken before your slay and you were to give it to the staff members online, this could have been avoided.

After the two staff members provide their sides, this will be dealt with accordingly.

As @Sinz has stated already, a situation like this is very easy to confuse. The logs aren't always helpful when it comes to prop damage and killing. I can understand why Jon and Cherry both misunderstood the situation and slayed you accordingly.

When @Cherry Slurpee gives his side of the story, me and @Sinz will make a verdict on this report.

I left shortly after this report was made to staff a staff-less server. Before I left I checked the logs of this report and I myself saw no prop damage in the logs. I agreed with Jon that it was RDM. I was not present for the slay. I also want to mention that I did see him messing with the sign, so i guess it is possible that he was damaged and it didn't show up.
