  1. Name of Staff/Player:
    Candycaneore
    Steam ID of Staff/Player:
    STEAM_0:0:52950540
    Which Server:
    West 1
    Which Map:
    ttt_clue_se
    Which Round:

    Time of Occurence:
    18:20ish
    Reason For Report:
I killed a T, and then Baldsaak (I think that was his name) killed me after I killed a T that had had a KOS on him. Just I as ID'd the body, Baldsaak killed me. I reported him instantly, and asked him to be slayed, and Candycaneore said that Baldsaak had reason to kill me even though I was proven at that point because of some 'grace period' rule, which I was led to believe was created to protect those IDing the body (to protect against people being RDMd for 'passing unided bodies') rather than to protect those who decide to kill the person IDing a body.

  2. I would like to add the rubbish argument of 'He didn't RDM in a sense' as Candycaneore says in this screenshot in which he is justifying not slaying the player in question. It was RDM, and the player in question admitted it.

I will tag @Candycaneore and their admin @FrostedBlade to handle this report. Also what you are describing is the 5 sec rule, Which is in the extended rules here.

We have a grace period, if you get killed within a certain amount of time after you kill and ID a T, we do not consider it RDM.

Put yourself in the killer's position, they see you gun down someone - their instinct is to shoot first ask questions later (generally). We don't want to punish players for playing the game, which is why we do not consider this RDM. Had it been 10 seconds after you ID'd the body, it'd be different - but seeing as it was the exact instant you ID'd the body, they wouldn't have even seen it was a T until it was to late.

Bottom line is, we do not consider this RDM.

Hi hi, I will post all my evidence. i do believe i did what was right. The player didn't deserve a slay by our grace period, because he killed @tayroc122 the second tay ided the body.

To add onto what has already been added, we also have a rule that is already established in the MOTD that shooting towards a player is considered traitorous on top of the 5 second grace rule. He could have seen you shooting and didn't see that the player you killed was a traitor. So the natural response is to kill the shooter. Since he did this within the 5 seconds, he is excused from a slay regarding that particular scenario. You can also find the rules concerning the grace period in the extended rules linked HERE or if you go to the MOTD, the link to the extended rules is also there.

How the grace period works is linked in a Q&A thread located HERE. All in all, there was no RDM committed here.

Several staff members have already commented on why this situation is not considered RDM, and have also provided some helpful links for further clarification.

I see no reason to leave this open any longer.

This report has been found INVALID.
