Suggestion: Give responses for reports to the person reporting or the person being reported that it wasn't RDM or it was. The reason this should be implemented is because I've noticed a lot of people being slain for things 1-2 rounds ago (when mods/admins are on) and sometimes people get banned because they have to get off. Sure they can make a ban appeal for it, but that's a process that really. Also sometimes people are waiting for the person to be slain but it never happens and they're just sitting there wondering "Has he decided the person should be slain or was it not RDM?". On top of all that it would just be nice to see a response coming back to me saying that it wasn't RDM.
If I'm reading this correctly, something similar (though different enough to warrant a new thread) has been suggested before: http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/reasons-for-slays.19401/#post-163830 But yeah, some way to see if the report has been marked "finished" or not would be enough to know if the report has been handled or is still being looked into. Perhaps a command !reportstatus which comes back with "unmarked", "in progress", or "finished" on your most recently submitted report. +1
+1 a conclusion box to the RDM manager would be nice. Some people are going to -1 this because "It'll promote more arguing!" but I doubt it'll cause as much arguing as the default system does when players feel their reports are being neglected.
I mean, this seems like a fair idea. What practical reason could you have for not implementing this? The system as it stands now doesn't let the reporter know anything about what happened or what happens, and if you report someone for rdm and no slay is issued, you want to know what happened, and a mod may be too busy to explain. I think this is a great idea.
I like the idea of the "Your report has been completed" instead of being able to see the actual response. +1
+1 there wasany times where me or other players are annoyed because staff can't tell them what happen with the report.
Normally when a report is invalid, I inform the victim on why it's invalid. However, if it is valid, well, the results show with the public slay message. I give the information to why the offender is being punished if he/she asks why.
Guilty is correct that most mod's do this, but there have been cases where I was left wondering what happened on either side of the report, so I'm hopeful that they implement a "Your report has been completed." message just for professionalism.
I've added that on my server AGES ago and dear god the messages of "Have you finished my report" has gone down about 48% of the time.
For a second I thought you said "Beary lobbies." and I was really thinking "Really, that's just horrible" but it didn't. It's just me being swift when reading the comments
+1 Usually if I'm certain I'm RDM'd and nothing happens, I ask, and they respond with a valid reason, and that's the end of it. Like I'm not aware of the entire situation and once I understand why I was killed, that's the end of it. It dissolves the negative feelings I feel towards the person that killed me, and that's the end of it.
I agree with this, not only to avoid accidental "RDM and Leaves" but maybe even a step further. I've always wanted to see the full report once the other player has responded, to see if they're bullshitting or wiggling out of the report, so then I can then post my evidence if need be. It happens more than I'd like to believe. Either way, +1 good suggestion.
