I will start the topic off with innocents carrying explosive barrels, as a general clarifications of a false misconception, innocents can carry barrels. Situation >am carrying explosive barrel as innocent >walking near other players with explosive barrel >someone shoots the barrel and kills people with it. Questions: 1) am I responsible for the possible RDM if an innocent shot the barrel? 2) If the answer to #1 is Yes, than does that mean any RDM related to innocents conducting traitor actions would fall back on the innocent that is conducting said actions? Moving into the subject of people tricking other players into T actions. Situation #2 >spray a picture and stand in front of it >Declare that anyone who shoots the picture will die >kill people for shooting the picture (that is near your direction obviously) Questions: 1) Is this RDM? 2) Should solicited T baiting be ignored? 3) Is this "Game" disruptive of the core game play? 4) Is this not just like encouraging players to go into T rooms, then KOSing/ Killing them for it? Finally, the subject of tricking players into their own demise Situation #3 >am in any map that has death traps >Ask players to enter death traps >push button for them Questions: 1) Is this RDM? 2) Does this disrupt core game play experience? A summation of expectations for this thread. > Polite conversation regarding some finer workings of rules >Personal experience >Mod/admin/owner insight > Not a God v.s. science debate
#1 Whoever is carrying the barrel is responsible. #2 Every one of those kills counts as an RDM #3 Yes
1) So what you are saying is, if someone picks up an explosive barrel, any innocent can shoot it, and kill any number of people, and it is the other persons fault, even though they did not shoot it, and if left alone, would not have exploded. Let us keep in mind that explosive barrels dont often kill the holder of it, so wouldn't shooting the person be a better idea? 2) What do you base this on? Based on the rules, they can be KOSed for T baiting.
This is where we look at the shot logs. If a player is shooting someone that is carrying the barrel and not the barrel itself, and accidentally hits the barrel, the person carrying the barrel is responsible. If a person carrying a barrel has his barrel intentionally shot by a person, then the shooter is responsible. Also, T baiting is shooting towards players, that is all. Saying you are going to kill someone is suspicious, but not traitorous. As stated in the server rules, if you allow someone to kill you it is RDM.
These are my own personal observations and how I see these situations. This does not represent the official rules. If I made any mistakes or if an Admin would interpret differently, please feel free to post and I will correct accordingly.
