Why should you be unbanned: I was playing this morning and we were playing on a small map. Not a lot of people on and I was playing as detective. A guy dropped a frag grenade (I believe it was Mr. Wayne) and I shot him ASAP as it looked like he just threw it. Unfortunately this was not the result and he just dropped it and I rdm'd him. I killed another guy who began shooting at me afterwards who was also innocent. I was to be slayed the next round and was. I left after that and apparently got a 5 day ban for RDM + Leave when I specifically said I had to leave after I was to be slayed. I was slayed and left, I didn't leave right after the incident. I'm not sure why I was banned. I was banned at 6:36 A.M., so I'm assuming it was related to this. It was under the nickname "baked baker" though, which was making fun of a few guys who were harrassing me and copying my name. Not sure if you guys thought I was actually part of them as I wasn't.
Evidence of innocence: I'm not sure who was on, but if it's related to the baked thing, Event Horizon knows I was reporting these guys and trying to get some help as they were rdming.

P.S: I just read another topic where it's a rule that you have to stay the whole round. I asked several times over and over saying that I would have to leave right after I would be slain and I was given no response, so I assumed it was okay. I just started playing this weekend, so I was unaware of this rule. I couldn't stay as I had to leave for school right after, else I would have just left my game open knowing that this was a rule.

 

Alright so this is probably the case.
As the server rules state, if you are slain, you have to stay the whole round or it's considered RDM & Leave.

As far as i can remember, you did not tell me you had to leave. You never asked me if it was okay to leave.

You simply left right after you were slain.

Furthermore, i take screenshots of everything and none of them show that you told me in adminchat that you had to leave.

I asked in voice chat when I was both alive and dead. Neither times did you respond to me. Also, the first RDM on the traitor wasn't me, but for whatever reason it logged me as killing him (which I don't think it even did as I checked the scoreboard after that and it said I hadn't killed him.) Not sure what happened there (you can even see that the world killed him, not showing that it was me and I know I didn't do anything.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that I definitely asked if it was okay that I had to leave right after my slay, got no response, and left. You banned me immediately after. As I've only been playing a few days and my eyesight is awful at it is, the rule is hard to spot when you're reading through it. It's not something I would have caught the first or even second time. 5 days is a bit ludicrous for something that I didn't even get a response to.

 

You have to make sure the staff acknowledges it. Why not say it in the admin chat so that we see it for sure? This is just a tip to avoid this situation.

 

The reason for leaving was because I had to leave for school, not just because I wanted to be an asshole and avoid my punishment. I used voice chat because of this. Typing was simply too much time to waste and I was multitasking as I was asking the question.

 

Never use voice chat as an official means of talking to staff. People are always talking through it or spamming it. You can not expect an official response in voice chat. That is the reason we have an admin chat.

 

Could you possibly consider removing my ban? I'm not aware of unsaid rules. Keep in mind that the common player doesn't know how your admining system works. The means of communication you're used to and pay attention to might not be known by someone who joined 2 days ago. Until now, I thought voice communication was a reasonable means to communicate to an admin. Obviously this is no longer the case, but you can't expect players to know this. I'd suggest adding it as a rule or maybe citing it somewhere. Hopefully you can consider removing my ban as I've only just started playing.
