Within the last few days, there has been a ridiculous amount of !rtv spam. Specific players like to come on the map and PM every single person urging them to !rtv every single map they don't like, which is generally multiple maps in a row. We got through 1 round on the last map, now not even 2 rounds on this map before we are RTVing yet again. I'm not sure what this influx is for, but it's really annoying especially for players that take longer to load in. Can we make it some kind of trolling offense? If people want to play a specific map, they can ask like everyone else has been and wait like everyone else has been this whole time. Constantly RTVing is needless and annoying.
People have been banned for this before. It is a form of spam and is punishable with admin discretion, though not in the rules.
I feel like if you've RTV'd two maps in a row, you shouldn't be able to RTV until at least another map is played through.
IIRC, this is already against the rules as it can be seen as trolling and an obstruction to gameplay. Groups of players have been punished in the past for using !rtp over and over again and it should still be handled this way now through the use of admin discretion. If you have enough evidence against the players spamming !rtp in order to just map-change over and over, contact an admin or make a forum report on the topic and staff will look at it there. Note that unless it's extreme I personally wouldn't suggest the use of a forum report to do this unless you are certain that the individuals doing it have been warned for doing it in the past. If not, just contacting a staff member should get the issue resolved if it's happening.
The only reason I made this thread is because I was told by @Solar when an individual was doing this a few days ago that there was "nothing [they] could do". To me, that means there's no rules about it. If there is, it may want to be included somewhere so people can't feign ignorance, even though this is pretty rare unless certain people are on.
Hopefully we will be implementing some... tweaks... to the way maps are chosen & RTVing soon! If that is unsuccessful then I'll make sure to try and get a rule created for it. We are very much aware of the issues surrounding the map choices on the server, and RTVing in itself. Thank you for your concern, zomborg.
Doing this would defeat the practical point of rtv for situations where it's use is helpful and intended.
this is already punishable, maybe if you weren't complaining 24/7 you would know that. they ban for 5 days with the reason group trolling. (check my bans if you don't believe me smh)
