Rejected Limit on Lottery Tickets

There should be some sort of limit on how many lottery tickets you can buy per day. It's unfair when someone wins the lottery, then buy 5,000+ tickets which is almost a for sure win, they can win for every day until they get bored or eventually lose by a 1% chance.

Maybe if we can limit the amount of tickets bought to maybe about 100 or so, it would be a fair win for everyone who doesn't have 1000+ points, I have seen someone enter 20,000 lottery tickets for 5 straight days winning 2.5 million points each time.

P.S. This is for both Deathrun and TTT, decided to put it here as it would probably get more attention.

 

Completely agree, then it'd really be random instead of 1 guy with 50% and everyone else with 1%.

 

I agree 100%. I saw whiskey alone won 5 lottos within a week and finally got bored.

 

Just no. You shouldn't limit what the big guys pay to make it so the little guys have a better chance to make more. If someone wants to spend hundreds of thousands of points to win, then let them.

ProTip: If you little guys want a better chance of winning, get together a lottery pool.

 

I understand what you're saying, but IMO that's not what a lottery really should be about. IMO a lottery should be a huge pool where everyone has a small chance to win, considering the prize could be a ridiculous amount more than you yourself put in. As an analogy, most rich people don't go out and spend everything they have on lottery tickets - they're already rich. Instead it's generally poorer/middle class people who buy lotto tickets, and they don't buy in bulk to the point where they have half of all of a certain lotto ticket. So since this normally is not the case, it ends up being a pool of people with tiny chances, people who buy just a few tickets every now and then with a very tiny chance to win. Now I'm not saying irl that rich people should be prohibited from buying as many tickets as they want, I'm saying that lottos in general don't have singular people with 50%+ chance of winning the jackpot.

Also, I'm sure that if this did happen, plenty more people would enter the lottery because you would seemingly have a better chance at winning - which you still don't.

 

+1 for sure, having a bit more of a randomness would be nice although the amount of points would lower. Maybe have tickets cost 200 instead of 100? This would help even out the fall of the pool.

 

The only reason I have tickets in the lotto is that vanilla has no use for them after maxing your crowbar. If there was a use for them I'd definitely be discouraged from buying any lotto tickets seeing as there is a 99% chance of the guy buying 5k tickets winning.

A limit of 100 tickets per person would be fair seing as most players don't buy more than 20 per day.

 

Oh, and I forgot to mention. Make sure to search before posting a new suggestion. This suggestion has been posted before and was pretty well shut down by community members.

No matter what people say about chances and risks, the fact is that people who win the lotteries usually have a 2-3 win streak. Every time I go check the lottery (not that often, so this could be bad data but w/e), there's always at least 2 guys who wins twice in a row, sometimes with 3 wins, rarely 4, but always 2.
