so this wont happen often but i was wondering if a t puts down a trip mine at a lader as you a t is walking up it and when the 2 sec delay is over and it kills you however there was no time for me to know it was there beacuse no time had placed and he didn't look around is it stil rdm?
It's a word vs word situation for mods. If an admin witnessed it, they could exercise discretion and issue a punishment.
Like mango stated. Though if a mod Witnesses the act of a traitor pretty much placing it right on a T buddy, that is RDM but needs to be witnessed or it is word vs word.
If you're going up a ladder, naturally you would be looking up, situationally aware of what's happening. Along with this you would still hear the 'click' tripwires make. The traitor may have placed that tripwire for innocents to make the same mistake you did. If you filed that report, I'd ask you to be more aware of your surroundings.
I agree... the only times I ever get killed by T buddies is when I'm not aware of whats going on around me. A lot of my skill and others' in the game is the heightened awareness, not aim skill. Knowing where people are and what they are doing is much more important than being able to mlg pro 360 noscope, because it doesn't matter how good you can shoot if you get caught shooting someone. But thats kind of offtopic, if you're going up a ladder, you can see the T place a trip mine, sooo yeah that's kind of your fault if you run up into it.
ok and it only makes the sound when the lazer is went off that's all i heard. i could not see the trip mine and the click sound was it being blown up beacuse i just got to the top of the ladder. but thanks for the help i was just wondering
It still makes a slight sort of cushion-y sound when placed. It makes a beep whenever it activates, and the laser pops out.

I was on during this incident and according to the logs, the tripmine was placed 14 seconds into the round and you died 16 seconds in.
Here's another scenario that should 100% be considered RDM, but the mod on at the time told me that it's "technically not RDM so I can't slay him." I'm in a room with a traitor buddy. The traitor buddy buys a Death Station. They instantly place it and shoot it to effectively turn the Death Station into a silent jihad and it kill me, his traitor buddy. I had no time to react. It's the equivalent of jihading without warning, only this is even worse, because at least with the jihad it warns you when the player buys it so you know to look out for that guy.
The note also tells you when someone places a death station. I'm not sure how he could be close enough to drop it by you and immediately shoot it without killing himself. However, if in the logs, you were the only person that died and it showed him shooting at the same time, I would see that as enough evidence to issue a spay. On the other hand, if any innocent was injured by it or there was no log of his shots, it would become word vs word.
I should've mentioned this I guess, although I thought it was implied when I said "jihad," but it killed himself as well. He laid it down right if front of himself while we were all in a room (the T Tester on 67th Way) and shot it immediately after he put it down. Essentially making it a jihad without warning.
