Misinterpretation of Ghosting​

Evidence of Innocence:

This is a private conversation between me and Exactly. After returning from being alt-tabbed, I see the notification that I have been banned for ghosting. I immediately contacted the admin who banned me so I can understand what I have done and clear up any miscommunication.

He had valid points for banning me and It was an honest mistake of the rules that I had interpreted. I have 850+ hours on Serious TTT servers and donated to the servers because I enjoy playing on them and I'd like to continue to do so. - That is irrelevant to this case to an extent.


In the screenshot, it links proof that I messaged a "currently alive" detective to "read chat". This was immediately interpreted as ghosting from a dead player to a live player, by Exactly(said admin, and confirmed by higher-ups). It was my misunderstanding that I cannot do that even though I did not specifically say "oh hey, this guy is the one you gotta kill; here is where he is..." Which is why all I said was "read chat".

This was my first offense for any misconduct performed on Serious TTT after having donated and played vast amount of hours on your servers. And I only say that because I'd like to appeal through honesty that I was not aware that my actions were of ghosting, even though my gametime-experience should have made it obvious. I'd like to continue to play on Serious TTT and I hope that my actions can be forgiven and overlooked.

I have no idea if being bluntly honest will help my case. But it is the truth and I hope that is enough. I took upon myself to re-read the !motd on "Ghosting".

• Using third party chat to inform player of in-game events they are not yet aware of.
• This includes using in-game private chat, admin chat, steam chat, Skype, TeamSpeak, etc.

In this case, I was a dead player who informed a live player to "read chat" in hopes that he will read KoS chat. By doing this, I notified a live player of in-game events they were not yet aware of via in-gave private chat( !p ).

As I have said, after speaking with Exactly; I am 100% aware of my actions and why it is against the rules of the server. It will not happen again.

This is my ban appeal to be lifted through the ignorance of my own misinterpretation of server rules. It will not happen again and I appreciate those taking the time to read my appeal.​

Ok. Thanks for taking your time to make the appeal and yes I did tell you to make one.

Noting the screenshots and evidence provided above, you dearly apologized to me and you indeed didn't know that telling a player that is still alive is indeed ghosting as I am getting through with this appeal. I must contend to ask my admin @Sinz and he will determine if he can put discretion against the ban. Thanks for your time.

 

Alrighty! So after some talk with Sinz, he told me if I want to remove the ban or not.

Looking at this situation and all, you weren't aware that this was ghosting and for it, you got banned.

So, in regards to your apology, I have unbanned you. I see that you are completely sorry for your actions and understand it all. Thanks for your time and I hope you learned from this.
