yes as he is gaining info from someone who is dead i would say that is ghosting (he would be the only one ghosting and recieve the ban as the dead player would respond as a courtesy)

we realise what you meant and yes that would be ghosting, however what i was saying is that cheesus would be the only one banned as zone-tan would be replying out of courtesy
I think this situation would come down to a matter of opinion unless Highwon or Sir Lemoncakes gives a final say on the ruling for this type of situation. The way I define ghosting is ever so slightly different than how it is posted in the rules. I define ghosting as "Acquiring information about the whereabouts, actions, living status, or role of another player from a source outside of one's own personal knowledge." I define ghosting like this because you can relay info like this through any source and it isn't restricted to programs like Skype as previous situations can show from players PMing the info to other players in game. A live check would have been a better choice in this situation because they would be using it to gain personal knowledge as to the living status of the other players showing up on the leaderboard. If Zone-tan is someone who usually talks/chats often when they play, if Zone-tan doesn't respond to the live check, Cheesus can then begin to have suspicion on where Banana's loyalties to the terrorist cause lie.
Yes shadow, that is true. I consider this ghosting because he is using means, outside the realm of general chat and living world experience to gain information and use it to his advantage. The only way I could see fixing this is to take away the PM system or keep names green when players are dead.

This guy collected this knowledge himself, its abit like when you are playing a game with splitscreen and the other person starts looking at their side of the screen to collect the knowledge/information enough to win the game. And everybody knows that looking at the other players side of the screen is the most normal kind of ghosting when it comes to playing a console game with a friend. But i dont think he should be banned for the ammount of ghosting, if anything its for exploiting the system but thats not something i would give a harsh ban for.
He intentionally exploited the system to gain knowledge he wouldn't normally have. That means it either falls under ghosting or hacking. Each offense is a 4 week ban.
Yes, I would say a 4 week server ban would suffice. There is no evidence of innocence giving the fact that ghosting has been defined a lot within the past week and a half. Topic Will Be Locked upon the banning of said player from the server of occurrence.
