Looks like a solid choice at a good price. Lenovo is a good brand, they have solid well built computers. Should work just fine for college.
Also, there really is no need to get anything more powerful than that.

I got a shittier one. Runs everything ill ever need. Office and what not. Not sure how good this is for college overall. Somehow there isn't much a performance boost compared to what i paid for four years ago for my thing. Suggest going with the law on this one

  5. Alright, thanks for the input! Just ordered it :D

Let's see, this is my list of things I need in a laptop:
    • Great Battery Life
    • Great File Performance(for opening and closing your documents fast)
    • Usable and Light
That battery life on that laptop is 5 hours. Not something I'd get for college, granted you'll probably have the opportunity to charge yours. It also doesn't have an SSD and it'll run hot.

If you can wait, I would recommend heading over to http://www.slickdeals.com and watching for any good laptop deals.

the laptop that I use is the lenovo ideapad P580. Really solid laptop and it comes with a dedicated GPU. I really love the thing. I would reccomend that if you would also like to do some gaming on the side. (PS the gpu is an NVIDIA GT 630M) Its got an intel 3520M processor. Also it runs with optimus, which will switch between graphics cards w=depending on what you are using the laptop for to conserve battery life. On a single day of school work, I managed to squeeze an easy 7-8 hours out of the battery. Consider wisely, as laptops can be a tricky purchase.
