A mod recently told me that shooting is kosable. I said that shooting TOWARDS players is kosable, not shooting in general. Which is which?
Well with snipers, if you see him shoot and if it is plausible that a sniper shooting COULD be shooting at people, even if you didn't see their bullets hit anyone, you can kill them for that, but that would fall under T-baiting. Only shooting towards players is KOSable, but most of the time, unless we were there to witness the actual shooting, we can't know with certainty where the player shot at.
Traitor baiting is shooting at other players; plain and simple. Like Event Horizon said at the beginning of his statement, shooting with snipers is plausible to be traitorous. The reason being is all in the path of the projectile. When you're close up to someone or something and you shoot, one or two inches of muzzle deviation only means just that, one or two inches. The larger the distance between the shooter and an object, one or two inches of muzzle deviation, then becomes a few feet at the target. This is why I consider certain sniper shots traitor baiting and, therefore, traitorous.
But that's what you consider traitor baiting, I've been slain for killing someone because they shot towards my feet, since they weren't "shooting at me". I'd like to hear how other admins/mods handle this, because it doesn't seem very black and white and some mods will slay while others won't for the EXACT same situation.
It's debatable and quite frankly a judgement call on whether or not they were attempting to harm someone / Either way T-baiting comes into factor.
