I talked to lordy about this before ( about the f slur )
she said it's fine when used in that context, but if ur loopholing with it then the slur rule'll apply

Lordy has also used it in the SB before so i always assumed it's fine as long as ur not pushing it

 

I think it's really stupid that I can't call my friends the gay F word in a game where we get to play as terrorists, and literally commit war crimes by blowing people up screaming "LELELELELELELELELE"

War crimes = ok

wrong speech = not ok

Both words should be banned.
It's not that hard to grasp. You might not get offended at any usage of these words, but that doesn't matter. Some people might. I understand the argument with the F slur, but I still think it should be banned purely because it does affect some people. And not being allowed to say the f slur does not affect anyone, at least not to the degree of being called a slur directly. That shit can hurt much more than you realize, especially when it's used to make you feel like your less than. Context SHOULD NOT matter.

The rule, in my eyes, is to protect players on the server who MIGHT get offended. You want a word to be unbanned because YOU think of it as a greeting, while many others might not. Why have a rule that might protect SOME people, and then remove that rule in favor of people who just really want to say slurs? And the rule isn't hard to follow, just omit it from your vocabulary? It is simpler than the RDM rule!

Keeping the rule affects nobody because you have no obligation or need to say slurs. But removing the rule affects a lot of people. Especially newbies who are just trying to find a server that respects them. Not everyone is gonna want to join a server and immediately hear slurs being thrown around by people who only do it because they can.
Unless you have a medical condition in which you desperately need to say slurs, keep the rule.

 

Look, I'll be honest, some of these people remind me a lot of people I went to school with, who called me a lot of shit I can't type down here, even before I came out, even though I look more like my white side. And these people do make a looot of borderline jokes. I personally could care less anymore, at a certain point that shit just rolls off. Hell, I heard a lot of slurs directed to me when I first joined, but I'm still here clearly. But I'm more so thinking of someone like that bright eye kid from years back, who really doesn't need to hear that shit all the fucking time

See my arguement was the racist meaning of " nigga" pre dates the apparently "non racist" meaning, people use it because they can it's also impossible to be able to tell every single time which word is being said due to accents etc

Here in the UK as pokeben said the long f word is a food and the short f word is a cigarette I've been alive for 28 years so let's say 20+ years of hearing and using those words in my daily life and suddenly I'm expected to basically forget those words from my vocabulary so I don't offend someone when I tell them what I had for dinner? Not happening

And, again both the long and short f words non slutlr meanings (so cigs and food) massively pre date the homophobic slur meanings

Oh and just to be clear I'm not campaigning for them to be allowed per sé, in the past I have used both words in proper context without punishment intact I've seen it a lot in the past but I recently had a debate with jabba in which he ended it with "context doesn't matter" which is what sparked this
