So, hey, sorry if this thread is what people think of me, but this has been on my mind for 3 weeks, and I need to know how long consideration takes, and how can you impress staff. Can players talk about their app in a non advertising way? Is it allowed to take pictures of your app to send it to other players [non community]? TTT wise: Say you have walked out of the T room, and the Detective saw you, and didn't shoot you, your inno, and you were just proven by killing a T in the T room. Does the action of you killing a T void you being in the T room? Can you kill someone for having a T weapon out, but they say they are proven? Is it a slayable offense to kill someone for walking in the T room if they are proven? Is it ghosting if you ask a Traitor who killed you who the last T's are, while you are dead? Can you goomba stomp a kosed player, and not get slayed by it?
Part 1 : For consideration, it can take a long time to a little time. - The application page, looks like a forum report page except with applications - There are almost 50 active applications at a time. - There is no predetermined amount of time - If you are denied with a message that seems "strange" you were probably part of the clean up. - The clean up is when they mass deny applications - It does not reflect negatively on you Talking about your mod app unadvertised is hard to do - Do NOT bring up your app randomly, it will come off as advertising - If the topic of a mod app is being discussed, feel free to pitch in - When asked to stop discussing, STOPSending Your Application To Other Players - Personally I believe this is frowned upon - Sending mod apps to players may promote plagiarism- It is okay to do it, when offering tips - Such as the many forum posts about how to apply.
Hello, and thanks for your questions. While in consideration, there are so many things that can change our opinions of you. Perhaps playing alot with certain Administrators and allowing them to see what qualities you truly bring to the table is a good start. You can also apply yourself by taking part in discussion here on the forums, being a friendly and wanted addition to our TeamSpeak conversations, or just generally making your mark here in our community. All of these things show us you're ready to be a moderator, and willing to put forth effort in the community aswell. Now on to your TTT questions. Killing a traitor would make it pretty stupid for the detective to kill you, however he could still do it, due to you having commited a traitorous act. Although, if an Administrator was on and knows the full story, he will likely get a slay, but Moderators do not have discretion. You can totally kill an Innocent for having a traitor weapon out, at any time or circumstance. Killing someone for walking into the T room, even if proven, is not a slayable offence. You are free to ask a Traitor who his T buddies are being that you are dead, and you having this knowledge will not change the game unless you yourself ghost with that information. Due to the intent of the situation, a slay would be given here. The player who goomba'd the KOS'ed did it by accident, and it would have been RDM. I hope this settles some of your concerns and questions, and always feel free to ask if it hasn't already been asked!
If you intended to goomba stomp the player because he was KOSed, yes. Although if you goomba stomped the player accidentally, it would be RDM.
Alirhgty, also, a few things too, then I'm closing this. 1. If a T goes into a room, prop kills someone, is that PropKilling? Not using the poltergiest, but just with his magneto stick. 2. Can I kill a detective for commiting traitorous acts? Liek crowbarring people, throwing incinds? would this be under Attempted RDM? 3. Say if I walk into a room, and Jihad, warn my T buddies 4 times. They refuse to move and continue what they are doing. They file a report on my for RDM, is that a valid report? 4. Is it bad to spawn in a AFK, and kill him with no staff on, and it's not overtime? 5. We used to play a game on the server with 3-4 people, we used to get the T to plant C4 on the ground, and we would try and defuse it, if we lose, you die. Last person has to disarm a 10 minute bomb with the T standing next to him. If he defuses it, the innos win, and if he doesn't the traitors win. Is this allowed?
1. Yes, that would be prop killing. 2. You may not kill detectives for commiting traitorous acts ever, unless you must defend yourself in a life or death situation such as if he is shooting you. 3. If you have warned, they should move. If they fail to move, it is not RDM, as they were warned. 4. Killing an AFK before overtime is RDM, unless they have commited a traitorous act such as being near unid'd bodies. 5. This is allowed, as far as I know. I would ask a higher up about this if it is considered meta gaming or not.
1. Prop kills are completely fine if you're a traitor. It is prop killing, but you should treat them a certain way. I always treat them as I would a jihad. Because you can fling the prop unpredictably, you should warn your buddies before doing so. 2. The only time you are allowed to kill a detective is when they place YOU in immediate danger. Damaging you is the only thing you should kill a detective for unless you're a traitor. 3. If you warn and take a screenshot or have a recording of your warning, or other traitor buddies can vouch and say they heard it, it's not RDM. I usually like to type in chat when I am about to jihad so I have evidence of warnings; dead traitors also see traitor chat. 4. What exactly do you mean spawn in? You should only kill AFK players when it is in overtime. If there are no staff online, it is RDM with no staff; if you leave. 5. Some may consider this meta gaming, but the way that this is different from meta gaming is if all of the communication is made over global communications and everyone is aware of who the traitor is.
I would also like to thoroughly answer these three questions, The purpose of Trouble in Terrorist Town is to win the round as the role you are, of course you may take this into your own hands while abiding by the rules but generally, traitors want for the traitors to win while innocents and detectives want for innocents to win. There are many ways of achieving victory for either role, whether it be reaching the time limit, complete innocent death, or complete traitor death. And on our servers we do our best to keep to this style of play. This is why having traitor equipment is traitorous, once you see someone with a traitor-weapon you can kill them in hopes that person is a traitor and help innocents in winning the game. With this, I will answer your questions with another question: If you know a player is proven, why would you kill them? How does this help the end goal? Simply put, it doesn't. The reason we allow players to kill people who claim that they are proven while committing a traitorous act is because not everyone knows the prove-status of every other player, as well as this anyone can claim that they are 'proven' and go around with a traitor weapon killing innocents with that "proven status" protecting them. If you are caught killing players you know to be proven for committing traitorous acts, you can be deemed a loophole troll and will be dealt with by the administrative team.
