Been stuck on this for a while. I currently have a basic logitech KB & dell mouse. I want to upgrade to the Razer DeathAdder (for 2 side buttons on it, which idk how i would bind in gmod), and the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid (no macros, but its quieter and requires less pressure). So yeah, do I need mouse, KB, none, both? I play shooters, obviously, and occasionally MMO's.
I got the death adder, the 2 extra side buttons i use for "___ is a traitor!" and "___ is innocent!" i bought it just for gmod.. just for those 2 binds..
I don't know much about the performance of gaming mice, but as for binding the extra keys on a mouse, it would be mouse_key_# or something similar.
I got the Razer Taipan. Very similar and I recommend it. It's very much like a deathadder except it has 2 extra buttons (They come as changing the sensitivity but you can change it like I did) My 4 buttons: 1- Calls out a traitor 2- pulls out callout menu 3- (Binded to direct to L) Which means "... is Suspicious!" 4- (Binded to .) Which directs to toggle my disguise. I have the CS Storm Quickfire TK and I recommend it. Great, mechanical, everything you need. Don't really like extra buttons. (P.S. sorry if the first part sounds confusing) Edit- Wording
I use a keyboard thats missing a few keys, and a computer that has a video card from 2004. I play most game's competively so I'd say no, buy cheap because eventually everything you own will break, and I ususally find the cheaper stuff to sometimes last longer then the more expensive.
Mouse binds are mouse1 mouse2 mouse3 etc. Also I use a corsair vengeance mouse and I love it I really just don't like the feel of light and cheap mice. Plus all the extra buttons are quit useful especially changing your dpi on the fly. The only reason I have a gaming keyboard (Razer Anasazi... I think that's how you spell it) is for mmo's.
I have the Razer Naga 2014 and it's pretty good. The buttons are awesome. The best thing I like about the razer is that I can change profiles for the game or whatever I'm doing. What am I doing with all those buttons? Spoiler excel macros
Mouse: Yes. Keyboard: Get something cheap or at least has the buttons press down very lightly. Sort of like a laptop keyboard. Thats the way i like em.
I'd say if you really like video games yeah but if you play computer games on and off I wouldn't; Like Snak I have been using the same computer with the same shitty graphics card, keyboard and mouse for the past 3 years. It's not about what you have, its about how you use it. Like shit for 2.5/3 years of pc gaming I used a touchpad (trackpad) Even for games like gmod and csgo.
the purpose of a gaming mouse is to assign different actions for keys on the mouse. if you want to assign keys that tell like "so and so is suspicious" then i think you should get it. I would get a gaming headset than a gaming mouse first if you don't have one.
I actually do have a studio microphone, and some decent headphones (I'm a music producer). Also, I don't want a keyboard with macros and such; those should be on my mouse.
