Define Harassment

I think that this server needs to have a clear definition of harassment as some people may get confused about the harassment. The admins and mods of the server say that they have their own definition of harassment , I think they should put it on the loading screen so people dont get confused about it.

 

From the extended rules:

Basically harassment is subjective; what one person considers harassment another may not. While there is a definition, the interpretation of that definition differs between individuals and staff members.

 

I have used that definition to defend my actions all the time and everytime the mods always say that that definition doesnt count as the server has their own definition of harassment, what im saying is that they should post it on the loading screen so that everyone can see it and so there isnt a blurred line between right and wrong

 

Asking someone to define harassment would be similar you asking someone to define a color; like blue. Everyone sees things differently. You can tell it's blue, but not the specific color of blue. You get a general definition, but cannot justify specifics because everyone sees things differently.

Here's a thought. Think before you speak. If you hear someone is offended by something you said, just politely stop.

From @Turquoise quoting the extended rules for this server. This could include "Noctorious is a shit mod" even if you are talking to someone else about Noctorious you are saying it publicly where Noctorious can hear it and thus can come as a public attack against Noctorious. If you want to have a private conversation with someone about how you feel about a particular player you can message them in steam, pm them in game, or start your own channel in our ts with a password on it.

 

Are you really that confused about what is and isn't harassment? Don't let your mouth be a sewer, respect others and their being, don't pester someone when they clearly don't like it/say stop, don't intentionally insult people. If you're trash talking, make sure you say so to the staff member.

Also, I'm sure many people would love many rules on the loading screen but there's just too much. Extended rules pal. Go there if you wish to be invested in this server and all of it's works.

What makes you think im confused about harassment, IVE ALREADY SAID SOMEONE WHO IS NEW TO THE SERVER MIGHT NOT BE SURE ABOUT THE HARASSMENT RULES BECAUSE THIS SERVER HAS THEIR OWN DEFINITION OF IT SO IM JUST SAYING THEY SHOULD PUT IT IN THE LOADING SCREEN INSTEAD OF PROP SURFING AS U CAN ACTUALLY GET PUNISHED FOR HARASSING UNLIKE PROP SURFING.

 

Dude, harassment in general is like, easy to define unless you've got no morals or conscience. You know how many people try to use Google Definitions to try to weasel their way out of harassment punishment? More than you think, and 95% of these people were clearly trolls based on provided evidence in the report/appeal.

Also prop surfing is a big issue as it gives people unfair advantages/delays games if you get someplace really special.

I'm pretty sure the universal rule of harassment is: "being a dick". So if someone of authority asks you to stop harassing it can be translated to "You're being too much of a dick", so try to be less of a dick. If you're in a group of new people you don't know you don't just go around telling everyone how shit everyone else is, cause you don't know if one of them is gonna punch you in the face. And I've never seen a group of people I walk up to hand me a piece of paper that says "We find insulting us to be offensive and we will punch you in the face if you insult us" so really by NOT including a list of specific things that are considered harassment that would overrun the rules page, you're being taught real life lessons. And isn't learning what's most important? Because knowledge is power and knowing is half the battle.

 

I dont think u understand what im saying I UNDERSTAND WHAT HARASSMENT IS IM SAYING FOR ANYONE ELSE THE RULES NEED TO BE MADE CLEAR BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE DEFINES THE RULES IN THE SAME WAY OK!! THIS SERVER DOESNT DEFINE IT THE SAME WAY AS SOMEONE ELSE, THIS IS THEIR SERVER NOT EVERY SERVER HAS THE SAME RULES SO THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE WHO IS IN THE GAME IS FOLLOWING THis SERVERS RULES
