CSGO tournament thread 1

Information:

General :

• The games will be hosted on a dedicated server, location still to be set. I'll collect information based on this.
• The tournament will be setup with a points system for each rank, I'll go into this in detail.
• We will have 2 referees spectating each match.
• The games will be streamed via Twitch to allow people to spectate.
• Prize is still being determined, it will be posted in announcements closer to the date.

Tournament :

• The tournament will be held next month, on one of the various Saturdays. This will be posted in the announcements when confirmed.
• The time of the tournament will also be posted when I collect the appropriate information.
• You are required to make the time set, if you can't, give plenty of notice to your team to allow them to pick up a substitute.
• Any important changes will be listed under announcements.
  
  
  

  • Bracket information
  • The tournament will be played as a best of three series.
  • The maps will rotate for each new game, each captain will vote on a map. If the game makes game 3, the last map will be randomly selected from 2.
  • Game 1 = Team 1 will play vs Team 3
  • Game 2 = Team 2 will play vs Team 4
  • Game 3 = Loser of Game 1 vs Loser of Game 2
  • Game 4 = Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 2

Game :

• No cheating of any kind.
• As each game is played, a referee is required to spectate to make sure all game rules are followed.
• Friendly trash talking is allowed, however under the referees discretion it can and will be punished. (This only consists of those who abuse this to throw much harsher insults)
• Games are to be completed in a timely fashion (This is just a baseline rule to stop improper delays)

Server Information and Rank Selection:

• The server will be 128 tick.
• In order to keep the teams as balanced as possible I will potentially introduce a format that restricts teams to a certain amount of points. (This isn't set in stone yet)
• If the above system does not seem to fit properly, we will pick 4 captains and allow them to pick based on the pool of players.

though to be honest, skill gaps in csgo are a lot more apparent than they are in other games. There's probably just going to be a blowout with one team easily dominating the others.

 

This is understood but I will try and balance the teams to the best of my ability. It's never going to be perfect but this is all just for fun, with a competitive aspect consisting of a prize.

 

Any games gonna be Saturday mornings or early afternoon Central time? I would like to join but have work every Saturday evening ever
