At the moment, we have Ignore. All this option does is show the Ignored person's messages on SB as *Ignored*, and not show the comments they make on profile posts and threads Could we have a 'Block' feature that completely negates any contact with the user? Instead of *Ignored* replacing the user's message in SB, it's deleted entirely The Blocked user cannot view and/or comment on your profile or start a forum conversation They cannot tag you in profile posts or comments They cannot rate your posts This is what it would look like if you tried to view a profile and the user has blocked you:
Yeah I think this would be good to limit who is allowed to post on your wall. Not really needed but +1
This doesn't prevent you from letting your voice be heard in the community, you're still free to post, just not on the user's profile who blocked you
I would agree with things like not seeing their shoutbox posts, or preventing them from interacting with stuff on your profile page. I also think not allowing them to start PMs/conversations wouldn't be a bad idea. I think they should still be able to rate your posts, though, or tag you in posts made on the forums. Tags are relevant for reports, appeals, etc., and as for ratings, if people are abusing that system, they can be dealt with.
I believe that I agree with Lone Wanderer here. I don't believe that the ratings should be something that you are prevented from doing. If you held a giveaway and had ratings be implemented in it, the player would not be able to participate and that doesn't sit right with me. Otherwise I think I support this. I'd have to think a little to make sure but I can't find a reason not to.
Honestly, I might of been the only one to do this, I've accidentally ignored players before half-asleep on my phone. As a staff member, I don't think I can afford to accidentally (or purposely) block someone potentially calling for help in shoutbox.
Tbh, I doubt there would be many staff members who manage to accidentally/drunkenly block someone Plus the chances the person you "accidentally" blocked comes on sb to ask for staff while you're the only one online is pretty low in itself However, this got me thinking of adding a block list, like on Steam, that shows all the users you're currently blocking/ignoring
