Banned by Bob Dolan unjustly, The Law agrees.

Was banned by Bob Dolan because he got "upset" after I said "#Dolan4president" when i got slain when I really shouldn't have.
Resulting in a 24 hour ban on both servers.

I was fine with the slay and decided to stay but dear Dolan didn't agree with me. The Law added me afterwards and agreed with me that the ban was unnecessary.

I do agree that Bob Dolan should have spent more time on this report, and that the harassment ban was unnecessary. Just keep in mind that Bob Dolan is a new mod, and is still going through all the learning curves, so players need to be patient with him. Everyone makes mistakes, but that's how you learn from them. My advice would be not to take players comments to heart, as a moderator you are going to get a lot of shit thrown in your face, but you need to be strong and just ignore it. I don't think he was harassing you, or at least not to the point were he should be banned. Also, you should have muted him and given him a warning first, before deciding to issue a ban. As for Vorzeichen, you should not make comments to Staff that might get them upset, as they will be less likely to side in your favor if your attitude is bad.

 

Ok, I apologize for certain on the second ban. And maybe the original ban was a little soon. I'm just trying to get a feel for being a mod and at the time his behavior seemed inappropriate and snyde towards me. I figured I shouldn't have a player belittling a mod publicly.

 

Besides, Vor. You don't exactly look like an upstanding member of the community. Didn't use the right format for your appeal, and this is the first thing you ever had a desire to post. Huh

Rules dont state bans towards disrespect for staff... This ban shouldnt have been there in the first place, unban him.
Even if there was disrepsect, it would either be a mute / gag or just ignorance.

 

I'll unban him when he provides his steam ID. He hasn't given it because he hasn't followed the format to post. The sole reason he currently isn't unbanned is himself.

 

Mods are supposed to always follow the protocol religiously. If he was harassing you, you were to gag him warn, ungag. And let that cycle. If he harasses you via chat, mute him. If he harasses you via admin chat, warn him not to and if he continues you may ban him as per protocol.

 

He's Unbanned on west 1

 

Even then it's only 8 hours

 

Continuing admin chat harassment is a 24 hour ban.
