Add more admins? increase staff

Since the game is only playable when an admin or a mod is online, it seems more logical to
promote some people (preferably with different time zones) to mods.
So at this time (3:46 PM) there will be at least 1 mod online among these 36 players.

It's pretty obvious that the reason I suggest this is because lots and lots of rdm's, mic spamming and whatnot.

 

People only get promoted to staff if they fit the requirements of it.

This problem has been mentioned many times before and the only solutions are to either report players on the forums, wait for staff to get to your server, or just hop to another server. Randomly promoting people will just make the problem worst.

It is a valid suggestion and one we should look at instead of just rating him dumb. Sure it has been said before, but shouldn't we have fixed the issue to stop these posts?

It's obvious we need a more diversified staff team, in regards to times they are on, but @Loldudethe6th a lot of the applicants for moderator on the server are deemed unfit to be moderators, and a majority only play in a certain time frane. Finding the moderators to fill these holes in our servers is a lot more difficult than just "promoting some people". The server looks into its staff applications very critically and even if you have the timezone to fill a gap, your attitude, past punishments, and plenty other things affect whom is accepted as moderator.

I understand the frustration of playing on a server without staff, but filling up our staff team takes time and effort. The best thing you can do is record the rule breakers and make a forum report, or type !hop and go to another server.

Forgive me for not searching the suggestions forums for a similar post.

I would have offered myself to apply to this role, but from my past experience it is quite a responsibility which sometimes conflicts with the gameplay,
and I'd probably won't have enough time. I'll only be playing for a month or so anyways, I don't plan to stay much, so I can't say I fit.

But seeing this community and those servers being with just enough potential for me not to give up on it is already a good sign.
Whatever you guys did, it works pretty smooth. The players are bearable, some of them are actually fun. There's not too much rdms/cheaters.
Seriously, if having a lack of moderators online is the main problem I found in this server, you guys are just fine.

Other than that, only map updates are something I look forward to. At least for the 24/7 vanilla TTT server.
Could be a plugin that helps people not get murdered by falling from ladders? if someone has a coder in their contacts, that might help a lot.

Other than that, I have nothing to point out. It is usually fun playing on the server (although I barely get to be a traitor once there's lots of people in it).

 

Don't even get @Skyrossm started on how broken those ladders are. They are seemingly impossible to fix though from what I remember sorry!

 

But yeah, 3:33PM PST, 30 people on West 2 and no mod. I mean we have a lot of mods/staff as is but it's when they're on that's the problem.

It's something that's easier said than done. No one likes being on an staffless server because players are much worse when they don't think they'll get in trouble. But if there's no one that is able to get on or no applicants able to be trained to be a proper moderator, there's nothing really that can be done besides recording and reporting, sadly.

I get you, it sucks being on a server without a mod because it's basically a different game that's being played, but can't really change that.

 

This is probably been said at least a thousand times now but I'd like to say that if you already asked in shoutbox or pm'd someone on Steam or the Teamspeak if they aren't able to get on you should gather evidence yourself and report them on the forums it's a great way to help out the community, staff, and yourself all at the same time.

 

Hi @Loldudethe6th , if you are having a bad experience on a server w/o staff on you could just hop around our other servers to see if you find a server that is staffed. I think that this is the best solution for your problem because we have plenty of staff. But if you like the server you are on you can come onto these forums and request one in the shout box. We have 37 Moderators and 11 Admins, and in a perfect world every staff member would only play Garry's Mod but that isn't the case because we are people and like variety

I think I could fix them, but the ladders are just so bad in GMod it is broken.

 

I applied a couple of years ago, I think that's enough proof that I'm qualified to become Admin.
