A mute option for chat on players.

Some people are just annoying in chat always spamming you, no staff on to stop them, etc., It would be very helpful if a player mute button was available for chat, not just voice chat

 

I have seen some servers that when staff where offline a !Vote mute was allowed.

 

They have one for voice in the tab menu, but one for chat would be cool.

but I think their should be no !Vote option because a group of players could join and just troll with it

 

Well you'd have to suggest that to Steam, or rather, Garry, to add that feature in. I know gagging people is a part of GMod, but adding a client-side mute feature for just these servers seems nearly impossible. The coding that would have to go into that would be massive, if it can even be attempted. Also, muting people might prove a bit of a downside if the person you muted called a KOS and you couldn't see it, they call a KOS on you and you can't defend yourself, etc.
