So I was just slayin (like the time im typing this) for crowbaring @Harry Potter . We were pushing each other (right clicking) I picked up my water to drink and left clicked (hit) instead of right click (push) he backed away and stared at me for 1 second, then pulled out his AK and killed me. I hit him 4 times only because I had crowbar upgrade (makes you swing faster) I was then slayin for "RDM". Could we have a new rule which incorporates Common sense in certain situations. @Sinz has his post but its not in !motd (the rules page). Could we please incorporate some common sense and add it to !motd. Update: BuffaloBill killed me for not IDing a body by a ladder (which you know when u press E by a ladder u go onto the ladder unable to ID it. I report and hes latter not slayin. He should of also not killed me because we should all know now that pressing E by a ladder attaches you to the ladder
Your thread concerns obvious RDM, my thread concerns karma bans, something that does not need to be added to the !motd. These two subjects are not similar whatsoever. Furthermore, moderators are required to follow strict protocol whether or not the damage dealt was accidental unless granted discretion from a superior. "Common sense" is not the term you are looking for, leniency is.
Firstly, "Common sense" is not going to be added, as even accidentally, RDM is RDM. Then, the ladder thing? You need to aim at the body to actually ID it. Try aiming as far as you can from the ladder, as it's still going to count as a T Act.
i know that common sense should be something that everyone ahs but there is nothing we can do about it. Unid's are unid, try pulling it away from the ladder with a magneto stick then iding it.
Let me explain as I was on a mobile device. The thread Concerning Karma Bans addresses the fact that players tend to kill innocents for committing not so traitorous traitorous-acts, like throwing discombobulators or passing unidentified bodies and it's purpose is to stop players from doing so to improve the overall playing experience for everyone. However, it never touches on inflicted damage where any player has the right to defend themselves; this is not something I included in the thread because the "victim" is to blame, not the offender or reported player. You caused the damage and are completely responsible. In that thread I mentioned harm as a valid reason to kill someone. Of course, accidents will be accidents but we will not tell a player to not kill someone for intentionally or unintentionally damaging them; everyone is entitled to defend themselves. Spoiler Though unfortunate, the body was still in a reachable area and because of that you are able to identify it. Moved to suggestions, also denied.
Common sense should tell you to play the objective and not mess around with crowbars. Common sense should tell you that damaging someone without reason is exactly what RDM is. Common sense should also tell you that if you know it's hard to identify a body by a ladder, announce that you're going to ID it. Common sense would also tell you to use your magneto stick and move it away from the ladder.
As I said in the post before I did use the magneto stick and announce but he gave me no time and Killed me.
Players aren't obligated to give you the chance to identify the bodies. If you're seen moving it away from a ladder, even in the most obvious case that it's clear you didn't kill them, they are allowed to shoot your shit up. Just spam E on top of it a bunch and you'll get it eventually. It's THEIR karma. Tl;dr, TTT has trigger happy people that will shoot you for minor shit. Have fun.
