Hello, as you all know I do have some funny things wrong with my voice I do have a speech impairment, but what if you were me and I was bullying you? What would it feel like? That's what I go through almost every time on the servers I ignore it. It has stopped, but recently lots of people have been bringing it back up. I'm just a normal human being like all of you. I know all of us have at least 99 problems in life. People just think. What would it feel like if you were in my shoes? Think about it for awhile.
If you are getting bullied or harassed, just come to me or any other staff member. I will always be there for you as a staff member, as a friend, or whoever you want me to be. Just let me know when you're feeling down or being harassed.
I support CDriscoll. Nobody should have to tolerate harassment like that. As someone diagnosed with ASD in 7th grade and had a speech impediment since I could talk (that has since improved a lot), I understand where you come from. If you need someone to talk to, you know who to come to.
Yeah cause yesterday I was being Harrassed by an 8 year old but that didn't bother me cause I've gotten so used to that. Especially cause the 8 year old was even worse then me and eventually got banned.
I myself have an speech impediment. It's seriously hard to deal with and it becomes a very stressing matter too me when playing games so I know how it's like. If anybody on the servers is harassing you, please use @ (adminchat) in textchat to alert staff of the harassment. If there's no staff on, record the session, upload the clip and report the player and the said harasser should be dealt with. There's no tolerance for harassment in this community so please don't be afraid to report the players. I hope you have a good day.
I may not have a speech impairment but i have something that is equal to that, Asperger's Syndrome. This disorder makes me a complete loner (hence my name Lone Wolf) and i was somewhat bullied because of that before( not on here but on other places).But if you feel that you were bullied, then tell a staff member so the actions won't go unnoticed. Bullying isn't allowed and it shouldn't happen at all.
I myself don't have an impairment, but I know for a fact that what I hear vibrating through my vocal cords is not what actually comes out of my mouth for others to hear. When I talk I hear clear, precise, and speedy speech, but some of the time other's tell me that I'm talking way too fast or they can't understand me or even hear words incorrectly. I currently have a friend staying with my family and he has Aspergers. As Event and Lone can probably attest, that shit isn't easy for others to deal with and be around you. I've also dealt with people that have ADHD, ADD, Down Syndrome, Partial and Full Handicap, Amputees, and more. Regarding the harassment: Get audio evidence if it is verbal. Get screenshots of the chat log if it is in global chat. Use @ in chat to msg the staff member that is on at the time. If nothing is being done by the staff member politely remind them that harassment is still going on and that you'd like to know that the player is being PMed about their behavior. Staff are sometimes extremely busy (especially on Vanilla) and may miss your messages. Ultimately I'd just suggest !hop to another server altogether; we have 5 servers total for you to play on.
Harassing someone with a speech impairment is nothing but cowardly. Never hesitate to talk to any staff member about that issue. No one likes to be harassed and harassing someone just because of the way they talk is nothing BUT disrespect. Feel free to talk to me if you ever have issues with players harassing you. I may not have a speech impairment, but I do have friends who do and it's caused them to get close to committing suicide because of all the ridicule they endured. If players harass you through PM or chat, screenshot the incident and show it to the staff member. If it's being done verbally, record the situation and show it to the staff member. Harassment is never tolerated on our servers and anyone who constantly does it will not last in this community.
There is no excuse for anyone to be harassed. Period. If anyone is harassing you, then you can come to me if you need a friend. Don't let assholes bring you down.
Let me say this; The fact that you can deal with the lesser members of the community who chose to harass you and still stay and be an active member is as amazing as it is inspiring. For someone who is your age, to take that much abuse and still be able to hang your head high is something that very few people can do, and is something you should be proud of. To those people that harass you, the only reason they do it is because they have something they need to prove to themselves, and they feel the only way to do it is to say something disparaging to somebody they see as stronger than them, which you are. I hope that the words that I and the other members in this thread said have helped you out for the better, and we mean every word of it. I'm looking forward to seeing you around the forums and the servers, and continue to stay strong, we're all here for you.
I'm glad you're feeling better. You shouldn't feel unsafe in this community, not at all. But if those bad eggs harass you even once again, alert the staff (this is both for the forums and in-game) and they should deal with them. I hope you'll have a nice time in STTT now!
I know its been tough for you on the servers. I try to snuff it out everytime I get on and you are on. However I feel that if it hasn't stopped yet it is past time for warning. now its time to start reporting it because I know I have warned a few people more then once. So if im on and it happens again ill record it and report it for you. Yes I accept you XD
I never call down anyone else, even if they get me mad. I choose not to be like them even though they can be a bit hostile. I like to respect everyone, I know I don't show it in-game but that's just me joking and fooling around. But there's like a couple things that I will not tolerate and I refuse to list them.
