TL~DR: I'm hospitalized with pneumonia in both my lungs, amongst other things. Assuming everything goes okay, I'll brbafkz (5/21) Early Morning: Pulled an all-night'er, was feeling fantastic. Went out and nailed a couple job interviews. Nailed the walk and everything. (5/21-5/22) Evening: Evening hit quick, and I was very tired from having stayed up all night. Fell asleep, finally.. Until I woke up half an hour later coughing. Fell back asleep again, only to wake up coughing. This happened again and again, meanwhile I started sweating and panting. Finally gave up on sleeping, and went to take a shower to get warm; despite it being very hot inside the house. Skipping ahead, we decided to go to the hospital as I only kept getting worse and worse. I started getting waves where I'd be incredibly cold or incredibly hot, no matter where I was/how actually cold or hot it was. After we got there, we skipped through a six hour E.R. Lobby and got a private room in the 'VIP' section of the E.R. Floor. They were quick to put an IV line in me, draw a bunch of blood, and begin numerous tests including an x-ray. It's then that they decided to admit me, and declared I have pneumonia in both of my lungs. A catscan verified the severity of this even further. (5/23) Morning: Woke up a few hours ago before typing this, feeling a bit better. I have a minor surgery planned for later today, where they're going to push a small camera into my lungs and collect a sample. Thankfully, I'll be asleep though this. I haven't been allowed to eat anything since twelve last night due to this surgery, so I'm literally starving right now. (I haven't eaten anything since 5/20 as of now.) Thanks to @Sir Lemoncakes for being so understanding about this sudden LoA. I'll try and keep this updated, but there's a lot going on right now.
Thank you for spotting that, i was wondering what was the jar thing he talked about in the shoutbox though, still that sample is going to hurt quite alot.
I'm too tired to concentrate on the shoutbox and do my work at the same time, i just read thru everything and all i saw was lung in a jar.
What percentage of your lungs? I've had pneumonia before pretty severely(not severe enough for hospitalization, but multiple antibiotic shots severe). I had about a quarter of my left lung and an eighth of my right lung(or could be reversed, never know with xrays). Sounds like you probably have at least half and half. And it sucks. That scar tissue is going to be there forever and you'll be significantly more prone to getting pneumonia again. Pro-tip: At first sign of cold, see doctor.
Oh, I should've specified. They're taking a sample of the infection(s) inside my lungs, not my lungs themselves. But yes, I'm sorry to hear that. This isn't the first time I've been hospitalized, even for pneumonia. It's not fantastic to say the least, but thanks for the support everyone.
